  1. I'm guessing they didn't think of that.
  2. Wear it to the game on Saturday, hunting on Sunday, and picking up trash on Monday. I don't see why they would spare him the indignity at this point. The season's done, may as well let him go down with the ship.
  3. Sight it in however you expect to shoot. If you're shooting from a blind or stand where you can use bags or a rest, then sight in that way.
  4. My sister and brother in law moved to the Monroe area a few years ago. They seem to like it pretty well.
  5. Most people wouldn't notice if you were on fire. Half of those who would notice, wouldn't do anything about it. When I see people printing, or even open carrying, I like to watch the other people around them. It's rare to see anyone react at all, much less negatively. But I'm still kinda anal about being concealed.
  6. Depends a bit on where/how it's cracked. Generally you just glue it back together. I like Titebond wood glue.
  7. My parents went through it with Mom's mom. It wasn't fun. Among other things, I have vivid memories of Mom sitting my sister and I down after the funeral and telling us with tears in her eyes to never, EVER, let her be the burden on us that her mom was on her.
  8. My neighbor has similar issues with her mother, though her dementia is quite mild. They had a nursing/eldercare service come sit with her occasionally, but after another neighbor found her wandering around the subdivision with no idea who or where she was, they've moved her to an assisted care facility. Sounds like you might be getting to that point. Caring for someone with advanced dementia 24/7 is rough. I'll ask who the sitter service was through.
  9. From the news lines I read earlier, I get the idea that his intent was to kill his in-laws, but they weren't there so he just started shooting. Also appears the sanctuary (using that word causes me pain) had one door, so escape wasn't much of an option.
  10. In response to the church events in Knoxville a few years ago, my church now employs a uniformed local cop during normal services and other large events. So there's a police car in front of the building and the officer is inside, not doing traffic control.
  11. Was the crowd openly hostile toward Jones?
  12. Pilot and Dish are major sponsors of the program, what else would their money be spent on? Stadium renovations, apparently. Jones's salary isn't paid (in full) by the university. They're not legally allowed to pay him more than the President of the university. All the extra pay comes from separate entities (booster programs, etc.) that aren't officially part of the university.
  13. Source for what?
  14. The longer they wait to dump him (and most of his staff), the cheaper it will be, that's how his contract is structured. That said, $8M is of little consequence to a program that brings in more than $100M annually. The delay in firing Jones tells me that (1) the AD is being pragmatic, as he should and is known for, and (2) they don't think any of his assistants are worthy of replacing him. That may change if they lose this weekend.
  15. Sorry to hear that. It's a bad day for sure.
  16. Right, won/loss record is nearly meaningless when you have a rich and loyal fan base who will spend lots of money traveling to a meaningless football game. If they get a bowl game, it'll be somewhere warm.
  17. Because everyone should have one of each, two of some, three of many....

    Tool boxes

I lost all interest in NASCAR in the aftermath of Dale Sr's death. They handled that situation horribly. Shortly after that it switched from being about racing to being about entertainment. It's become a medium for marketing, the "racing" is secondary. As for tool boxes.... pros with lots of heavy tools need a pro quality box. The average shade tree handyman will be served just fine by the consumer grade stuff.
  19. Like this.... https://www.corneredcat.com/article/running-the-gun/rack-the-slide/ This, and getting her past the notion that she might hurt the gun, made all the difference for my wife. Obviously this is written with women in mind, but is applicable to anyone with low grip strength.
  20. Are the springs prohibitively expensive? If not, just try it and see. Either it works or it doesn't.
  21. Sorry Doug. It gets better with time.
  22. I didn't typically tip my barber. My haircut is simple and I figured $10 for 10 mins of work was a pretty good wage, well above my hourly rate. When I had kids, I did start tipping for the aggravation/patience in dealing with my squirmy kids. But after a few of those multi-hour $40 trips to the barber, I bought some clippers, gave them to my wife with a couple YouTube videos and said, "have at it". She does a pretty good job. Though one could argue paying the barber $40 is much cheaper.
  23. The Gruden and Manning rumors are just wishful thinking. Gruden already gets paid more than UT can afford for doing very little actual work. On what planet would he want to quit his cushy day job to take on the 20/7 job of cleaning up a decade of disaster? Manning already has more money than he knows what to do with. His aspirations are far bigger than trying to coaching a team out of the dumpster. UT has got to stop looking for instant glory and find someone who can rebuild the program by motivating the kids to perform to a high moral standard both on and off the field. That's gonna take a few years and the fan base is gonna have to accept that.
  24. It'll make good gangsta sights.
