I've seen that one before and it still gives me the wilies. Yikes!

I'm well versed in chasing them around, but usually not with a rifle. Thanks for the info.

NOS sticker on the AR.... that's friggen genius! When I was in college we built a small off-road buggy (SAE Mini-baja). The rules required that we carry a fire extinguisher on board. Just for laughs, we painted the extinguisher powder blue, put a NOS sticker on it, and stuck a piece of vinyl hose on the nozzle. You wouldn't believe the number of comments we got to the effect of "holy crap, that things got nitrous!" People are so stupid. Yep. It looks really cool when I hit the purge button while I'm checkin' my ho's and rollin' thru da hood at night. fo shizzle.

Is there not a concern for ricochets from golf balls? I've got an ample supply of crappy golf balls but have always been apprehensive about shooting them.

Wow. That's hard to believe. Seems like a form of discrimination. We've often joked at work that we should form a commune. We'll all be domestic partners and adopt each others kids so the "family" rate is split across about 50 people. That'd show 'em...

Oh yeah? See how that blend holds up when I hit my 500 NOS shot. I put the bottle in the trunk and ran the lines under the carpet so it's all stealth and stuff. I did find that the propane store charged way less to fill it.

If your only weapon is a hammer, every problem looks like a nail.

$360/mo additional for her or total for both of you? That does sound a little high, but not terrible. Its very difficult to compare rates without all the details .... deductibles, copays, percent coverages, out-of-pocket limits, provider network, etc. I think mine is about $320/mo for the family. Feel free to shop around, but I doubt you'll find similar coverage for much less. And yes, the healthy people subsidize the sick ones. That's how insurance companies make money. It's also one reason why I switched to an HRA type plan. If you're not familiar, the cliff-notes version is that they give you a lump of money to spend on health care. What you don't spend rolls over to the next year and they give you another lump. So it can add up after a few years. If you spend more than your lump, it goes back to a typical 80/20 type plan.

And you had to buy the battery? "It was fine when I brought it here... " $6k in warranty repairs? Dayum. Rather than buy the warranty, why not just buy a Honda? :taunt: But this does remind me that I need to plug the tender back into the other bike and mower...

I use full synthetic blinker fluid. Between that and the ceramic muffler bearings, I get at least 25 more hp. The tech at the dealership showed be a dyno run...

That's awesome and oh so tempting. We have some fancy electronic equipment where I work that either didn't come with a good carry/storage box or we broke the one it came with. Someone went to the local walmart and found a suitably sized container... a Plano pistol case. The guys that use it like to leave the box sitting on the edge of their desk. It's fun to watch the reactions. I even give it a double take occasionally.

Mostly what they said.... gun, flashlight, cell phone. However, my kids are on the other end of my house so if someone were to break in, just hunkering down in the MBR isn't an option. My wife gets her gun, flashlight, and calls 911. I get my gun, flashlight, and go get the kids. The only thing I'd add to your kit is shoes.

Looks like an actual chainsaw chain. Seems like it would take a lot of force to get it to cut, the pic even shows two people using it. I haven't used one in a long time, but I recall the old wire saws being pretty easy to use even if the rings wear out your fingers like UncleJak says. How hard is to to use?

I can see them now. Dig the toy front-end loader in the last pic. My kids have one very similar.

Winter is my favorite time to hike. I don't get soaked with sweat and don't have to carry as much water. No leaves so you have better views. It's very quiet. Can't stop for long because you get cold. And best of all.... no snakes or bugs!

Get a battery tender and a quality battery. I went through 4 walmart batteries in 3 years in my bike. Forked over the cash and got a Yuasa. It's been in there for 5 years.

Looks nice. Other than the patina on the blade (which looks really cool), it appears to be a fairly normal kitchen knife. How long is it and where's the balance point?

Ding! I'm sure the county lock-up is no picnic, but why not work detail or community service, ... something useful.

Am I the only one who can't see the pics? I can see the one Erik posted, but that's it.

Only if any individual can call in to perform the check. If you make a licensee do it, someone would have to pay for it. Even if they set up some sort of flat rate system... $10ea... that the government would reimburse the licensee. That $10 is still our tax money.

Wonder what North Korea has in mind

I grew up mostly that way as well, though I guess you'd consider it the suburbanite version. Having just looked at the map, our normal play range was a good two square miles around the house. Dad built me a tree house in the back yard so I really did have a fort. Same here. :) Hills.... wow. I spent lots of leaf raking money in that place. .... Sorry for the thread hijack :hijack: -
Nice! I need one of these.

A friend suggested a similar idea as a possible solution to the proclaimed "gun show loop hole". You must pass a background check to gain entry into the show and you get a wrist band. The cost would be part of the "cover charge". Then even if you wanted to sell outside the show, you have ready access to a background check. What you're proposing reaches a bit further and I don't disagree with it in principle. However, I do share the opinion that its nothing more than a tax. The SCOTUS ruled Obamacare was a tax and hence illegal, how is this different?.
