  1. Vent/Rant. solely for that purpose. I had a Kilo 2000 range finder. Sig CS said it was made in 2016. I bought it new from a shop here in town. I went to use it out the other day, and couldn't read the display. I changed the battery and it was no different. - searched the web and found an absolute avalanche of failures on these units. I called in today, and they would do nothing. No repair, nothing. ... except 20% off on any optics from their store. ... you mean the ones that won't last past the warranty exp date? No thanks. They say this range finder has a 5yr Electronics warranty - the "Unlimited Lifetime Guarantee" is on the mechanical even though it says nothing about that on the initial warranty page. On a monocular digital range-finder, the electronics ARE the unit. period. It makes zero sense to warrant mechanics past the warranty for the electronics... unless you were trying to lure a purchase with a false guarantee. The kilo is in the trash. I am done with Sig Optics. There are waaay better companies to give business to. Here are the adjacent pages from the manual for this unit... which follow the marketing at the time - which was... misleading. There is nothing on the first page that remotely hints of an exception to total coverage. Just an FYI: All of the Sig electro-optics now say "5yr warranty" on the product page. Oh well, yeah, trash is gross. hahaha... it's about the way I feel about Sig right now.
  2. In Nashville - blackouts at 5:50, 6:30, 7:27, and 8:51. It was 12deg F at the time of the last blackout. No way should we need rolling blackouts when it is 12deg F. I think I will write some letters once the new year rolls around.
  3. Yes. It was where the "Bronco" was right between the shoulder blades - well above the lumbar. It was hard as a rock. awkwardly so. We had just driven a Raptor, and it was comfortable as can be.
  4. I've driven both of the ones at Wyatt Johnson. - I had a July 14, 2020 reservation for one. - cancelled it in March as the stinky stuff seemed headed for the rotating curvy metal bits. The Orange one is a Badlands 2.3L - Manual. It was fun, but did not have enought umph for me in Nashville Traffic. In a small town, it would be great. The Blue one is a Wildtrack w/ 35s (as mentioned). It has the 2.7L and the 10 speed auto. It was peppy and fun to drive. BUT... the seat HURT inbetween my shoulder blades after a while. No WAY could I take that thing on a trip - and all the members of the family felt the same way. The soft top was ok. It was already rubbing paint off of the roll cage in spots. The Bronco can't tow more than 3,500lbs, and I couldn't take long trips in it... and ... more importantly, Ford can't make them right and ship them out. hahahahaaaa... This could only ever be a "fun car" for us - It's just not practical enough to be one of our DDs. If I was going to pay to feed and keep a "fun car" it would be a convertible sports car.
  5. I would guess that... given the circumstance, a hard look will be given to place those facilities in a hardened environment. They should be in bunker-buildings set back from public streets and right-of-ways. Hindsight is 2020 (wow). AT&T might find themselves speaking to Congress about this incident... and the vulnerabilities it exposed. I'm not saying there is wrongdoing on AT&T's part - just that ... serving the public means helping AT&T be motivated to keep this data/telecom outage from being so easy to make happen. Merry Christmas TGOr's.
  6. -agree with everything David said. I do not know how many of the buildings on the river side of 2nd Avenue were protected by the historic commission, but... If they are condemned, the value of the property on which they sit goes way, way, waaaay up.... and it was already worth a fortune. The ability to develop high-rise buildings on that street is... a diamond mine. Purely hypothetical: If that were the purpose, anything this momentous would have to be done several, several, several layers removed with alternative motives farmed and used - meaning the perpetrator wouldn't actually be aware of the true purpose of the bombing. -I'm glad no innocent people were killed, and I hope the officers injured make a full recovery.
  7. I guess I see the Hummer thing as a little different from Ford's mustang. Hummer is a retired badge. They are still making Mustangs - 2-door, RWD coupe. The Hummer looks like it could be a continuation of the Hummer line... and follows the same general format while using electric propulsion. -but yeah, the specs on the Hummer are out of this world!!
  8. haha... maybe because it is not a mustang. Does anyone know why they had an obsession to name it the "mustang"? Bring back another retired model name - or come up with something new. It is probably a great product. I would probably consider purchasing Ford's new 4-door electric sports sedan, but I wouldn't buy a "mustang" that has absolutely nothing to do with the lineage or name of the Ford mustang.
  9. I have a day 1 reservation for a Badlands. I doubt that I will order. It seems like David DuCOVIDy has been the lead on this project and has caused delay after delay (some understandable and some are bewildering). This along with the weird website/build anomalies and junior-high-level information and communication shenanigans leads me to believe that the first iteration may not be up to snuff. Also, the 4runner is all the on-road/off-road combo that I need. Taking the roof off would be fun, but if I'm honest, I'd rather do that in a 911. That - and I am not that fond of the hard top look. It doesn't look like a concept that went through enough revisions before the production. With that said - if one wanted to get a Base, 2 door and add sasquatch to it, you'd probably have a heck of a fun vehicle. The powertrain and chassis are not new, so they should be good. It's the electronics, and Bronco-specific features and parts that might need some time.
  10. 1) If you can navigate to a ramp that is open and keep a C19 safe distance while launching, you will encounter way less people than picking up fish at the grocery store. 2) Emotional health is recognized by the administration as something that is important - thus the allowance to be outside and boat and canoe and kayak... etc. 3) Stay away from people. Don't congregate. Don't interact. That is the spirit of the order. If you can do that and fish, great. If you can't, then don't. It seems that "throwing words at each other" is a time-honored traditional form of recreation, ... hahahaha... and it may be helpful. who knows!?
  11. yes!! Well, I'll live until I die -- trying like heck to not take anyone else with me.
  12. Am I correct in reading that this EO is effective immediately? Aaaand - if I can drive 3 minutes to my private boat ramp and go catch crappie to eat, is that the same as going grocery shopping in the eyes of this EO? I am FOR social distancing and have been advocating since the first of March that folks isolate, but I do not like the generic force-of-law house arrest vibe. There seems to be a LOT left open to interpretation - for something that carries, supposedly, the force of law. Am I wrong? bottom line: I would hope that one could travel reasonable distances to recreate in isolation with one's immediate household. Is this allowance coming to an end?
  13. Well, one can be fairly certain that this individual is not a hand washer either. Is a danger to society AND gross. dude.
  14. https://www.sea-doo.com/watercraft/sport-fishing/fish-pro.html ~$15k _______________________ https://nashville.craigslist.org/boa/d/bowling-green-ranger-boat/6784796306.html $13.5k I fish all day every chance I get... which isn’t near as much as I’d like. ... between a bass boat, a kayak, and a jet ski,... given your choices at any price point, I know now which one I’d choose.
  15. It won't be up long: https://www.facebook.com/jthodgkinson?lst=671369187%3A1350932325%3A1497451816
  16. NBC news running well-focussed, long-lens video of Scalise being rolled on a gurney to the ambulance. - covered only by med blankets. grrrrrrrr. There is no way that is necessary. I would say that for any member of any party... or any other human on the planet.
  17. If current reporting is accurate, Scalise spent ~10 MINUTES down after taking a 5.56 or .223 round to the hip. He was alone in the outfield without treatment for ~10 minutes. Unreal. I hope he - and all of the innocents today are ok and makes a full recovery. Tourniquet & Blow Out Kit. Have one with you every day. Everywhere.
  18. Taking the fam for a little fun. Has anyone been there lately? Is it posted on the direct entrance to D&B? -hope this finds you all well. I know I've "been away" for a while.
  19. I priced Oakley prescription lenses. I walked away. haha. If you've got FSA money to blow, it might be a good purchase. I would check w/ Oakley on the ANSI rating on the script lenses.
  20. It was slick this morning - no doubt, but I cannot fathom that folks don't understand gravity, physics, and ... that you can't drive like you do when its dry. I saw plenty of ... awful drivers today. This afternoon - heard from someone who came up on some kids sledding in the road. He stopped at the top of the hill to let them move to the side -- they never did, they just looked back and kept sledding. After he crept down the hill, he gave them an earful of tough love. -that resonates with me, because I may or may not have watched a close friend narrowly miss being crushed by a car back in the late 70s. I'll always be able to see that crumpled radio flyer in my head.
  21. I spy an FJ... and a Ford with not enough articulation on the back axle.
  22. Didn't see a thread on it, so here we go: http://www.nbcwashington.com/news/local/Guns-Found-in-Violin-Case-at-Fletchers-Cove-in-NW-DC-409674815.html?_osource=SocialFlowFB_DCBrand&_osource=SocialFlowTwt_DCBrand - there's not a lot of coverage on it, and I couldn't find how wide of a search area they found the stuff in. If it's a wooded park, it could be a few un-related dumps from crimes committed. or...
