1. Rifle is SOLD! The scope and rings are still available for $185.
2. It’s an amazing gun and will no doubt last for generations if cared for. Quality and craftsmanship are superb.
3. Oops, forgot I had this posted. Bump! I recently picked up an Eotech 512, so I’m set for an optic now. Might be open for interesting trades, though. Otherwise, let’s do $450 for everything. I know not everyone here is looking for a pellet rifle, so no rush.
4. Thanks! This is great for anyone who either has the yard for it or neighbors who won’t get upset.
5. Hey, gang. It’s been a while since I’ve been active on the forum, but the gun bug is back and I’m on the hunt for new gear. To support the habit I’m offering up two like-new items for sale. The first is a Weihrauch HW30 S .177 caliber pellet rifle. It’s a break-barrel springer that comes stock with an adjustable Rekord match trigger, a tunnel front sight with six interchangeable posts (one is already installed), and a really nice beechwood stock. Those of you in the know already know Weihrauch makes Beeman's rifles, and this is the same as an R7 except for some cosmetic differences ordered by Beeman. I’ve only shot it a couple dozen times and am including what’s left of the 500rd tin of RWS pellets. I bought it to plink in the backyard but its “pop” is a little too loud for my comfort. It includes it’s original box. Weihrauch HW30 S with box and pellets - $285 ***SOLD*** Next is the Hawke Airmax 2-7x32 AO scope I bought to go along with the rifle, plus the Hawke Match dovetail rings to mount it. Thanks to their sharp bi-directional recoil you can’t run just any old scope on a springer without the risk of breaking reticles, but the Airmax is specifically built to handle the punishment. And this model has their AMX reticle with half mil dot spacing for drop compensation. The coolest thing about the scope, though, is the adjustable objective lens for clear sight pictures as close as 7.5 yards. Hawke Airmax 2-7x32 AO with Rings - $185 ***REDUCED*** I'll happily meet FTF in Hendersonville. Thanks for looking, and please let me know if you have any questions. EDIT 10/15/21: $450 for everything or maybe an interesting trade EDIT 12/7/22: The rifle is SOLD! The scope and rings are still available and price is reduced.
6. My 442 carries perfectly in my front pocket.
7. I bought mine from a dealer on GunBroker for $400, shipped. Here's a pic of the 442 alongside my LCR, because all threads need pics. :) No lock
8.
It's still a current model which is linked below. It can be ordered if your LGS doesn't have one. http://www.smith-wesson.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product4_750001_750051_766181_-1_757768_757767_757751_ProductDisplayErrorView_Y
Yep, I was just about to chime in with this. I recently sold a 642-1 and bought a current model 442-1 (also readily available). I read that S&W keep producing them because they're so popular among LEOs for BUG use.
9. I had the G36 for a minute but the slim grip was painful (for me) when shooting. Your mileage may vary. I ended up with a G27 in a VMII and, while I know you're not interested in adding .40 cal to your inventory, my guess is that a G26 would suit you perfectly. As for slimness, the G27 practically disappears in my waistband, and I'm a fat boy. You might also want to consider Trijicon's new sights for competition. I can't remember the model, but they're similar to Ameriglo's orange-front config, but Trijicon also offers a yellow front. Here are some pics:
10. Earlier this year I went through SEVERAL models of Glock before finally settling on the G27 for EDC. I carry it in a Milt Sparks Versa Max II. I know some people think that holster is a bit over-hyped (I did for a long time), but owning and carrying one makes a huge difference. Two years ago my personal bias was causing me to steer people away from Glock, but now it's the first thing I recommend (if I know the shooter is experienced).
11. I don't have it anymore, but I toned down my G23 RTF2 by lightly rubbing the rear end of a Sharpie over it until I liked it. Worked perfectly and didn't mar the frame.
12. I would jump on that deal. Nice gun you're getting, there!
13. Yep, to everything above (especially the training). I would add that you also need to pass a background check at time of purchase, but it's performed over the phone while you wait and the fee is $10.
14. Wow! I took my HCP class from Buford Tune, back in the day. Reading now...
15. Thanks, all. It's got an extremely tight slide to frame fit. Trigger take-up is a little springy, but it breaks crisps and has a nice reset. I'm predicting it will be a great shooter. ETA: I forgot to mention that while it is a Series 80 design, the FPS is linked to the grip safety, leaving the trigger feeling just like a Series 70 gun. Pretty cool innovation.
16. Hey, all. I finally got my Smith & Wesson Gunsite in this week and thought I'd post a few pics. It doesn't look like I'll get out to shoot it this weekend, but a range report isn't far away. Feel free to post pics of your own in response. This one bears the FSP (Front Site, Press) serial number prefix, and is the 940th unit produced. It has minor handling marks but was unfired by the original owner. I can't wait to shoot the snot out of it!

What's wrong?

Sweet! That should help hold you over.
18. Well, it may be a little longer before I get an SP-101. I recently caved and bought a S&W 1911PD Gunsite, and I doubt if there will be enough birthday funds to get the Ruger. For now, it'll have to stay on my bucket list.

Colt Combat .45 ACP

I went through a few Colts a couple of years ago, and I got excellent help directly from Colt. Just call them with the serial number and they'll tell you everything you could want to know about it. As for value, it would depend on things like overall condition, caliber, finish, whether it's in original condition, and whether it includes the original box and papers. If it's original with 95% finish and box and papers, my wild guess would be anywhere between $900 and $1,500, depending on particulars. If it's in worse shape, or has been modified or missing box and papers, the price could be as low as $600-$700. Still, it really just depends on what the market will bear. Once you get your info, dig through GunBroker or GunsAmerica for some check prices. Good luck!
