  1. I went Sunday and was surprised there were fewer people than I expected. Moved around from table to table with ease and was able to browse slowly and look closely at all the smalls ... I bought a monocular and pair of Ospry binaculars to take on an Alaskan cruise this fall . I saw 2 nylon 60s and a Belgium browning that we're nice but priced nicely also ... I passed. Was surprised to see some primers and powder. All priced nicely as well. I enjoy the Jackson shows more than the Memphis shows
  2. Worst cut I ever got was when I was 9 years old hoeing weeds with my uncle . I reached down to clear away some debris and my uncle accidentally got too close and caught my fingers just about the middle knuckle with his hoe . They were still attached but barely hanging .. he wrapped my hand as tight as he could in his t shirt and we took off running for the house . He beat me to the chicken yard gate but I beat him to the house . Grandmother cleaned my fingers as best as she could with running water, wrapped each finger with an oily wick from several coal oil /kerosene lamps . They stayed wrapped that way for 2 days . Then new clean bandages and Vicks vapor rub . Never made into town to see a doctor. They healed fine and I was able to bend and use them normally by the end of summer. . I'm 63 now and the scars are still visible .
  3. Looks good. Wish I’d seen it sooner. Sale Already pending. Contact me if the deal falls through. I live in Dyersburg and would have to meet in jackson
  4. Daily prescription meds also ... especially heart meds ....
  5. Anyone have any experience with the Cimarron ? I've only seen them online, but they look most original to me
  6. Wish you were on the other side of the state I d take the revolver
  7. I'm in dyersburg ... what would it take for all of it ?
  8. Yes, and I might add I live in a primarily rural area .... Lots of tractors, combines, water wagons, grain trucks, etc. when I do venture off to " the big city " , I either let my wife drive, or stick to the right lane and avoid high traffic paths to wherever I need to go
  9. Last time I checked, driving was still a privilege, not a right . Everyone needs to respect each other . I for one drive slower than most ... I'm aware of all my surroundings at all times and Don t risk my life or the lives of others by being hasty
  10. I have one in 44 mag ... I bought it as a piece to collect ; not as a practical purchase. by design, it shoots best from the hip, it doesn't shoulder well ... I drilled and taped the lever and installed a 1 inch bolt to be run up to engage the trigger each time it's cycled ( like the Rifleman ) .... It can be backed out to fire normally .... I had a custom made holster and bandelora rig to carry it diagonally across the front of my body as it's too long to draw from the hip .... I removed the front sight to aid in getting in/out of the holster .... It's a blast to shoot as cowboy action shooter .... But no practical purpose other than collecting/cowboy action
  11. Gramoxon is some serious stuff .... Kills just about anything .... Available at co-op

    1911 Cimarron

I read an interesting article recently on this pistol. I'm on the fence about ordering one. Does anyone have one and if so, do they like it ?

    Ants!

read somewhere where dry instant " grits " were used .... sprinkled around and allowed to be eaten by the ants .... it's suppose to swell up and burst them once they drink water ? maybe larger yard ants / not indoor sugar ants ? anyone ever heard this besides me ?
  15. I have a Zephyr model made by Thompson Machinery .... I'm very pleased with it's performance on my Ruger Mklll 22/45 & Browing Buckmark Whisper.... haven't tried it on a rifle though .
  16. I am happy to report that with the aid of a friend from Alamo TN I GOT THE PISTOL BACK TOGETHER IN WORKING ORDER !!!! Gaylon said I was performing all the steps right / just wasn't holding my mouth right .... ha It'll be a long while before I take it down again ...
  17. it's comforting to hear that I am not the only one that has frustrations with this procedure .... I think I'll let it lay for a while and try it again in a few hours .... maybe I'll see something obvious that I missed earlier ....
  18. FINALLY got it to button up .... but somethings still not right ... pulled the slide back and it sticks and won't spring forward .... something internally is not just right ... breaking it back down again....
  19. thanks for both of the replies / tips .... I've tried both with and without a magazine inserted .... will look at the Rimfire Central website to look for other clues also .... As for the plastic hammer .... I'm using one ... have checked the alignment with a wooden dowel to ensure a straight shot up ...everythings good there .... the pin goes up and end but the mainspring asembly won't fold back in ....
  20. I need some one on one help .... I have a new Ruger Mklll 22/45 that I took apart and installed a replacement magazine disconnect bushing from Sam Lam of Canada... it's suppose to aid in the magazine releasing easier .... Getting the gun apart was easy enough .... got the hammer pin pushed 3/4 thru and removed the hammer, spring, and metal disconnect piece.... swapped out the bushing in the hammer with the one from Sam .... put the hammer assembly back into the gun ( minus the old spring and disconnect piece ) and tried and tried to push the pin back thru everything .... it wouldn't go ..... so back apart came everything ..... upon closer inspection I learned that the pin would not pass thru the new bushing-- even outside of the gun ....the hole was a bit too tight to even start it in .... so I found a 5/32 drill bit and worked it thru the new bushing ( Slowly and in reverse ) until I got it reamed out just enough for the pin to slide thru the bushing .... great; I was feeling pretty good about it now ... I got busy putting the hammer assembly back into the gun frame when the pin slipped back a bit and caused the slide release piece to fall out of alignment .... then the sear/spring asembly popped forward .... I spent the rest of the day with my big fingers and several tiny parts in a narrow gun frame trying to line up several loose parts all at one time ,,,, really frustrating .... but I finally got it ..... thats when I noticed the trigger spring/plunger had came out and I had to disassemble everything again to reinsert them first , before getting all the other parts back in again .... anyhow, I've said all this to say that I'm not afraid to tackle new things ...and am mechanically inclined ... I felt confident in tackling this BUT I can't get the pistol to go back together now ..... the mainspring pin will not push all the way UP ..... I've tried tilting the pistol upwards 90/ 45 degrees, with / without a magazine inserted, pulling the trigger to raise the hammer, etc. is there anyone in the Crockett Mills / Dyersburg area that I can meet to show me what I need to do to get this pistol back in order ? my cell number is 731-445-4193
