  1. Not mine but the best picture I could find of the rear logo, I just wonder if TWRA would say anything about them. I have seen many boats around here that do not have what I consider block lettering for the hull numbers.
  2. Anyone know how picky TWRA is on the font of the hull numbers?  I would like to match the existing factory lettering.
  3.   I met a Capt like this. Peterson MKIII 65' patrol boat 3-8v92 Detroits.......There wasn't quite enough room for the 12v to fit for the center engine otherwise it would have been 3-12v.     Anyone have dealings with Jaco's Marine in Lawrenceburg?
  4. Do you think all the related problems is from use or lack of use?  I'm looking at adding a Stinger 175 to the toy collection this year to float around on the lakes.
  5. Anyone thinking about biting the bullet for a lifetime?
  6. Bump from the dead: Anyone have an opinion of the best/honest Jeep dealer around Nashville, both in sales and service?
  7. http://usnews.nbcnews.com/_news/2012/08/06/13141505-home-searched-as-police-seek-motive-for-deadly-shooting-at-sikh-temple?lite Am I missing something here?
  8. I use a pair of these. http://www.academy.c..._-1?N=329210428 I can still hear decently with them on. When I bought them they had the highest NRR of anything I looked at.
  9. I cut a lot of the whole story with the ton of questions that he kept asking over and over, just giving the big details. One thing I noticed that I left out is that he radioed his shift capt to call him, when he did he questioned if SC honored TN permits.
  10. My experience with Darlington a couple of years ago.

  12. x2, I have been trying to study for the Extra for over a year now and keep getting interrupted studying. That and the fact that I have to re-learn a lot of the mathmatics that I have forgotten. I went through 2 versions of the technican books because of it but luckly I have another year and a half before I have to get another Extra book. For some reason I keep having nightmares of being eaten by capacitors and inductors.
  13. Hmm, maybe I need to send TWRA an email. I have a few people with me at work that wouldn't mind going through it along with one guy's two daughters. Maybe I could conjure up a few more people if there is a minimum. On another note, I bought a new compound bow today. But I think it is bad form for your shoulder to pop out of place mid-draw test firing it. It has really been a long time since I shot a bow, 15+ years, so I have lost a lot of the muscle up there.
  14. Does anyone know how the courses are scheduled? Is it up to the volunteer's schedule or does TWRA sort of dictate a schedule? Thanks.
  15. I guess the picatinny is the better option from some more poking around. Anyone use the EGW base?
  16. Academy had the 700 ADLs for $349 with no scope. The sales flyer about two weeks ago listed 3 calibers in the description but the listed part numbers were for .30-06, .243, 7mm Mag, .270, and one more which I believe was the .308. Academy didn't list the .308 on the website but I think that is what the last part number was for.
  17. Looking at the video of the sniper, I'm wondering if the bolt was not completely closed. He pulled the trigger which released the striker from the sear but only after fully closing the bolt did the striker release the spring tension. Not real good from a safety standpoint but probably easily fixed.
  18. From an email I received a week ago: So shame on all you bad hunters, you're hurting aminals. I have never been hunting or through the safety course. I have been trying to get a few people I work with to go through the course with me where I'm not the only adult in a class with a bunch of 10-year olds. I do wish people would actually look at where their food comes from, it just didn't suddenly appear in the freezer section at the store out of no where. IMO because of this lack of understanding the farms and hunting land is being replace with overpriced houses and shopping malls.
  19. Thanks. I also forgot to include another question about bases. Any advantages/disadvantage to a 1-piece base over a 2? Thanks again.
  20. Dumb question but is there any advantages/disadvantages to the different types of ring and base systems, i.e. Weaver/Picatinny vs Standard/Dovetail vs Double Dovetail? Looking at getting a bolt gun and just never knew the advantage/disadvantage to each system. Thanks.
  21. MidwayUSA Competition Range Bag - MidwayUSA
  22. The first officer had his Capt call him on the phone to verify if SC honored TN HCPs. I didn't have a long gun with me, I started to bring my shotgun but decided to put it back in the safe.
  23. I just went through this same situation yesterday, Darlington Co. Sheriffs Dept SC pulled me over, I may have been speeding a little. As soon as he approached the truck I knew what attitude he was going to have. Produced my permit and he had me place my carry in the pass. seat and step out of the truck. He started with "Why do you carry that like that?" Then he proceeded to pat me down and I informed him about my pocket knife and a speed loader I had in my pocket..... "Why do you have a speed loader?".... He didn't even bother to take my knife from me. Long story short he tossed my truck and ran the serial on my carry and the 2 others I had in my range bag (unloaded and mags empty). His backup was nothing but nice and mentioned that state law was to have the other locked up out of the pass. compartment..... It is a truck.... The first officer calmed down after tossing my truck and I guess the small talk I was making with the other officer, joking a little about me running when I stretched my back (I had been on the road for about 10hrs at this point) and stating he had his hopes up for the first ticket/arrest of the day. All in all the first officer calmed down and became courteous and the second was nothing but courteous. I received a written warning for failure to maintain lane, I guess he had to charge me with something for pulling me over, less paperwork is my thought and they both shook my hand and told me to have a safe trip and fun at the range. The first officer kept fondling my .45 but just checked the XD and put it down. They were both making over the .45.
  24. You don't have to remove the cap to empty the mag. Stick your finger up and fee the back of the shell in the mag and slide your finger over to the left. There is a spring loaded catch there that retains the shell until the bolt is cycled. Just press down on the latch and it will release the shell, one at a time. Be sure to hold the ramp up and watch your fingers, I have pinched mine a few times.
