    It happens. lol

I'm on 250 now. BTW, I just bought a pair of those pictured above. Any comments on them?

I find the frames very tight on my temples.

I think they are very tight too, but they aren't uncomfortable.  Then again, I haven't worn them for an extended time period either.  I think I would have done better just buying a $15 pair of reading glasses and use them only for reading.  I can't wear the glasses while on the computer, so they were really a waste for me.

  2. It has been quite a few years since I have posted anything.  I honestly think I burned myself out shooting so much a few years back that I just walked away from the gun community altogether.  I am slowly working my way back into it as time allows.  That said, I went to a local gun show a few weeks ago and saw so many new things that I never knew existed.  One of the things I saw that really made me smile was a CMMG Banshee 300 Mk 57.  The FN Five Seven was my first handgun I ever purchased, and it is still one of my favorites.  To have the 5.7 as a PDW on an AR platform was really cool.  Does anyone have an familiarity with them or with the quality of CMMG?  I am not all that familiar with them either.  Thanks.

  3. I no longer have any of Rick's stuff.  I lost my last XM-18 skinner a couple of years ago.  They were great knives.  My EDC is now a Praetorian T.  Greg's quality used to be pretty crappy, but the badassery of his knives still made you want one.  Thankfully, his quality has improved tremendously.  I have had three Praetorians, a G, a Ti, and a T.  The G was too small and the Ti too big. The T was just about right for my taste.  The quality on all three were as good as any of my other knives.  They are still ridiculously overpriced, but good prices can be had on the secondary market.

  4. I still carry a RHK skinner as my EDC.  They are good knives and their quality has improved a lot over the years, but I am no longer a big fan.  Still, if I ever got an opportunity to get a battle black XM-24 full Ti with a recurve (my favorite grind) or a warncliff at table price I would jump all over it.  Ha.

That's crazy. Proof that there are good people out there that do the right thing. Glad to hear you got it back. How did the cops treat you during all this?

They were great about the entire situation and even cracking some jokes about what to do with the money I will save.  To be honest with you, anytime I have had to deal with the Hamilton County Sheriff's Department, they have been really good and professional,

Did you file any kind of report for your missing gun?  Maybe if it's found you can recover it...long shot though.

Yes.  I filed a missing gun report with the Sheriff's Department yesterday.  I don't anticipate getting it back.

  7. Last week was pretty bad.  Let's see... I have been fighting this sinus crap for a week and a half.  I stirred up a bunch of yellow jackets while working in the yard Saturday and thankfully only got stung twice.  I had a pretty good reaction to the stings considering my wrist and ankle are still about twice the size as normal.  On Sunday I spent about 7.5 hours on the lake with no sunscreen.  I got absolutely roasted.

For the grand finale, while I was packing up my car from the day's festivities on the river, I pulled my modified G19 from one of the bags to secure it back in my car.  Well, I didn't make it that far.  I got distracted and laid my holstered gun on my trunk and then proceed to help a few others with their bags.  On my way back to the car, I forgot to pick up my gun and proceeded to drive off.  Ten minutes later I knew forgot something.  When I drove back to the boathouse to pick up my gun...poof...it was gone.  I looked around for 20-30 minutes, but I couldn't find it.  Out of anger and frustration I stupidly left my Oakley Half Jackets in the pavement and drove off.  While I was mad about losing one of my favorite guns, I was really upset that I lost my temper and destroyed a really nice pair of sunglasses out of disgust.

  8. It's warm again and ticks are coming out . Be careful . My brother has Alpha Gal and has had it for several years . he got bit by a Lone Star tick and can't ever eat mammal meat again  . For you guys who forgot biology , that means no more beef , pork , squiril , deer , and on and on . He can only eat birds , reptiles and fish as far as meat goes . The Lone Star tick carries the Alpha Gal carbohydrate and or protein I think  it's called . My brother got bit by one and now carries an EPPI-Pen in case he ever accidently eats something with mammal meat in it . If he does the mammal meat will damn near kill him . The simplest things can have mammal meat in them like hot dogs and even gravy. Good news for him , he discovered a few years ago that he can eat a RED MEAT that is from a BIRD . It's an EMU . I even tried some . I cant tell the difference in appeareance , taste , nor texture from cow meat . It's AWESOME . But the Alpha Gal disease is a bad thing and will change your life forever if you ever get bit with the right Lone Star tick . So be carefull out there while in the grass and woods !

One of our salesmen had that.  He was unable to eat meat for several years, but eventually, it went away.  Now he is fine eating red meat.

  9. someone you would not suspect, ever. Been there done that.

Take a close look at family. Just sayin....

It is not family. I am quite certain of that. I have an extremely small family, and all but one live far away.
I think Mac was correct with what he said, drug addled kids. My mom would foolishly leave her van and at times, my truck, unlocked. My guess is someone happened to be traipsing through my woods one day and came up to my house. Oh my, the car doors are unlocked...and it all went downhill from there.
