  1. I just don't have to overcompensate with a longer cartridge like the 10mm. It's all how you use it baby. Sent from my XT1060 using Tapatalk
  2. And make sure she isn't close to the gun while you do this as well... Sent from my XT1060 using Tapatalk
  3. I decided I needed a new home defense gun. I wanted something easily maneuverable, good capacity and decent power. I ended up getting a FNH FNX-45. My future plans are Talon grips (fancy rubberized tape) and a Streamlight TLR-2G. It's a big gun, but fits comfortably in my hands.
  4. I have a M&P compact and Shield both in .40. The compact was the first pistol I purchased back when the M&Ps first came out and I figured I'd go with a .40 since it had a bit more punch than the .9 and could have just as much energy as a .45 with certain loads. I see the pros and cons of each of the different calibers and have no problem with people's opinions on each of them.
  5. Have a Shield .40 that I carry every day. It's a fantastic carry gun. Small enough to not feel it, but big enough to still shoot well with. To me it's just the perfect amount of carry gun, It really hits the sweet spot. Haven't had a single problem with it. Working on getting the wife a Shield 9 with a safety (she demands a safety).
  6. Fenix PD line. Had my PD32 for a few years now and it's held up fantastically. Super bright (and not even the brightest in the line) and pretty good on battery life. The cost is almost impossible to beat for the quality you get.
  7. This would be a home defense gun, so size isn't an issue, plus I'm 6'2 240lbs, so I can work with bigger guns should I ever want to carry. I have a Shield .40 and a M&P .40c for carry duty though.
  8. I've called in to their customer service line to let them know how pleasant it is to do business with them. They're fast and very courteous. Great business model and will retain my business.
  9. FNX Tactical. Something about having 16 rounds of .45 is pleasing to me.
  10. Yup, quite a few in Rutherford Co. Also seen several dead ones in the plateau, so they're making their way east. Just make sure you don't touch them or get their blood on you. Little buggers are known carriers of leprosy.
  11. Said handgun, not hand cannon. ;)
  12. If they are an American citizen and they are doing it legally, I don't care who you worship, I'm fine with it. People that point guns at me are what I'm concerned about.
  13. I think my Shield .40 shoots better than my M&P .40c. I've been pleasantly surprised with it. I figured it was going to be really snappy, more so than my compact, but it's really nice to shoot. Ergonomics are great on it too, especially for such a thin gun. Going to get my wife one in 9mm to replace her Ruger LC9 and it's horrendous trigger.
  14. I'll keep that in mind next time. I do hate to see good meat go to waste.
  15. Yeah, when I approached it, it tried to run but fell back down and kicked around a bit. I could tell it was pretty messed up, that's when I decided to put it out of its misery. It hurts me to see animals suffer needlessly.
  16. I know there isn't a problem with discharging a firearm in this area, as people shoot on their property all the time. Just didn't know about killing a deer. I would think (hope) that most LEOs would be ok with it.
  17. So my neighbor hit a deer this morning and I pulled up soon after. After checking on her, we checked on the deer and it was in bad shape. Decided to discharge a round into it and end it's suffering. Anyone know the legality of this? I do have my hcp and we live outside Murfreesboro city limits surrounded by woods and farmland. Not really concerned about getting cited, just curious what the laws are. I thought about slitting it's throat with my SOG Seal Pup, but didn't want to chance injuring myself.
  18. They sent me 5 extra passes, so me and some friends are going. Definitely looking forward to it. Don't care too much about the speaking, but the main floor booths is what I'm going for. Hoping to run into Uncle Ted.
  19. A really nice 1911 (still love my Rock Island) Some sort of S&W wheel gun Sig P226 H&K Mark 23 Suppressed .22 Maybe an AR pistol for the hell of it
  20. Awesome! I'm wanting to add to my Marlin lever collection ( want an 1895 in 45-70)
  21. The story lost me once the blonde showed up.
  22. Pretty close to my new house. Been contemplating joining. Need to stretch my Remington 700 out and test my abilities ( or lack thereof). How close are they to reaching their membership limit?
  23. Good buy. Love my Rock Island. Want to put night sights on it though.
