Mars I simply and respectfully disagree. However I do agree no post is going to change anyone's mind on the issue, sort of like politics and religion. I think the OP was simply trying to tell his story of what happened...or rather didn't happen, without starting the whole OC vs CC debate again. But seems that you can not mention OC at all without starting the debate all over again.

Where did you read he had to open carry? I didn't. But you asked why he "had" to open carry He simply said his favorite cover shirt was dirty so he chose to OC. Which is not a valid reason to open carry, just an excuse to see what would happen. Which is fine cause I open carry sometimes and Love It! (it makes me feel like Arnold) Like you said it's fine...you don't need a reason to OC other than because it is legal and you want to. Again I say how he came about OCing that day has nothing to do with what he was trying to get across in the post. Doesn't matter. His point was well noted, but in the process of the story I had a question come to mind, so i asked.....is that ok with everyone? Sure ask all the questions you like. I was just pointing out you asked why he "had" to when he never said he "had" to and that he already gave his reason whether valid or not to others

You can still get a HCP after a DUI conviction, it is not a permanent disqualifier. You must just wait, I guess to show that maybe it was just a one time, stupid mistake. -

There are few things that can disqualify you that I don't agree with, but for now it is the law. You said on the DUI if it was a habitual thing you'd understand. I guess more than one in the time perirod that state has determined would be considered habitual in their eyes. So as long as your friend doesn't get another DUI within that time frame he'll be ok. -
+1 That is how I have done all the previous renewals.

I think we are pretty close at least... Not really sure how the application and the rest gets to Nashville from what ever local DOS station you go to. But at least there is a time limit, even if it is stretched, for new applications....I'm just worried about my renweal coming next year...

Well Lisa would be in the know. I was just going by T.C.A.

Hopefully she will get it soon. Remember though there counting didn't start till they got the application and it stopped when issued, no matter when she actually gets it.

He could have...he also could have chose to go out unarmed. I don't think it really matters to the post how he came about OCing that day. I think he was just trying to tell us about his experience and that in this case at least, OC wasn't the big deal that many think it is.

LOL....didn't really mean that about what you posted. Sort of meant that even if someone said, "If you wear a purple cap it increases your chances being abducted by little green men from neptune." ...that you could probably find at least one internet article that said the same thing.

Ohio changes law for vehicle carry, etc..

Good to see the progress and pro-carry attitude by LE. -
Seems I remember hearing about that Todd....and I don't argue that thugs prey upon tourist, especially if they know who they are. I figure you if you look hard enough you can find at least one example of any situation you could dream up. I guess my point was more about odds/chances. There is a chance you could hit by an meteorite if you go outside, but we're not all hiding in caves either.

What I heard was that the LAPD actually has a copyright on their uniform. So not to cause problems with that, they have them on the wrong side. So maybe not a copyright issue....just a PR one

Incorrect. 39-17-1305 Possession of firearm where alcoholic beverages are served. California Connecticut Hawaii Illinois Iowa Maine Maryland Massachusetts Nebraska New Jersey New York Oregon Rhode Island Washington Wisconsin http://www.state.tn.us/safety/handgun/reciprocity.htm May also want to check some of the links in my sig.

If you could somehow get to the outdoor part without going through the inside, then Yes. ....and while it would be up to a judge to decided, I would say a covered, attached porch may count as within the confines.

The "ghost buster" sign can be used with a proper sign, but not instead of. See TN AG opinin 07-43 You may also like to see 07-148
