  1. Welcome
  2. She found out that the logging in did have a purpose to it, huh?
  3. Welcome
  4. Most of the time I just pocket carry as I do normally. However I have a shoulder holster I will use when I plan to ride most of the day. OCing w/ OWB works pretty good as well.
  5. Everyone is right!!
  6. It's not just TN permits, it's all states that they only recognize permits issued to residents of that state. One thing that I found funny is the majority of states that only recognize resident permits are ones that issue non-resident permits, like FL.
  7. You are right...no time limit on renewals. Remember...you can renew up to 6 months before your permit expires. The 90 days also starts from the time the recieve the application in Nashville...so 97 would be about the maximum, but I'm sure some of those 7 extra days were sending it to Nashville, then back to you.

  11. Because I laid the bike down...ok..... I said it....
  12. Bud Ice tonight. Just about have everything out of the old house.... Now just to find a new house to put it in...lol
  13. Let's just say staying in the box, while important, may not be the MOST important thing....lol I don't remember for sure on the size, but roughly like two parking spaces. If you have checked it out already here[/ull] is the MSF website about the Rider's Course.
  14. Great looking bike...Enjoy!! Oh...and when doing figure 8's in the box at the MSF course....don't look down at the ground....and don't ask me how I know...
  15. Since new laws usually go into effect July 1, it has been at least a year, if not longer. Can't remember right now exactly when they started doing it this way.
  16. Yep, got the e-mail that they had updated it today.... Post edited
  17. Sort of boils down to the part of the oath "protect and defend" the constitution, not "interpret". So just because you or a few other individuals feel a law is unconstitutional you still must enforce it. Just as was the law in D.C. until recently. The judicial branch gets to decided what laws are constitutional or not, so unless something has been ruled unconstitutional by them, it is defacto constitutional regardless of the feelings of anyone else.
  18. The main reason I carry at home is because I pocket carry..so as I get dressed and put my wallet, keys, etc.. in my pocket so goes the Glock. Also it is the easiest way to keep the kids from being able to get to it while still having it readily available.
  19. As others have said by TN law it is legal to have a handgun in your car on school property. However AFAIK they can still post and not allow weapons anywhere on their property. But if it is not posted, then you can't be charged with a violation of the law at least. The relevant statute in this case is 39-17-1309©(1) [The second half of it] It is an offense for any person to possess or carry, whether openly or concealed, any firearm, not used solely for instructional or school-sanctioned ceremonial purposes, in any public or private school building or bus, on any public or private school campus, grounds, recreation area, athletic field or any other property owned, used or operated by any board of education, school, college or university board of trustees, regents or directors for the administration of any public or private educational institution. It is not an offense under this subsection © for a nonstudent adult to possess a firearm, if the firearm is contained within a private vehicle operated by the adult and is not handled by the adult, or by any other person acting with the expressed or implied consent of the adult, while the vehicle is on school property.
  20. Yep !!! Now a clerk can insult someone by not asking them for ID implying the appear over 50 years old. The 46 year old mother will really like that won't she? That is what happens when laws are filtered through several layers of store ownership and management and left up to a minimum wage clerk to interpret
  21. You are indeed correct. SB2938/HB3266
  22. You may could write/e-mail the issuing authority in each state and ask why. I e-mailed the Attorney General's office in Washington and asked why the didn't honor TN permits and got a letter back from the explaining why. I can't remember know but it has something to do with the mental history requirements (or lack of proof) in TN.
  23. Ok, here is the law that required universal ID 57-5-301 Here is the bill that would have removed the sunset clause and allowed it become permanent SB2939/HB3265 From what I can tell it was held on the House Desk and never voted on or became law, therefore the universal ID law did sunset on July 1, 2008 and is no longer the law. Any other opinions are greatly welcome.
