Just to add about the Sonic thing. I used to be a manager there a LONG time ago, my wife at the time worked there and my daughter did last year. Sometimes I tip, most of the time I don't. Well...now I use my card so cash changing hand anyway. Yes the "carhops" bring out your food in all kinds of weather, but they are being paid just as much as the cooks, fountain and other inside. Ever worked a hot grill in July with the ventilation fans broke? Many nights the carhops made more than I did between regular pay and tips. But I admit my daughter did right well with tips and I was glad. If they split the tips between the cooks, fountains and carhops I'd be more apt to give a little...but that just me.

I have to agree with GLOCKMEISTER. There are very few legal ways to carry a loaded long gun off your property, fishing is not one. Hunting is, but you must have a permit for whatever you are hunting, the proper weapon for that game and that game be in season. You can not carry a loaded handgun off your property PERIOD without a HCP.

I could be wrong....but it's my hope they will reach some sort of compromise. I think the biggest problem right now is there is no difference in TN law between a restaurant that serves alcohol and a tavern/beer joint. Not sure about Naifeh, but I think most are willing to consider to allow carry in restaurants, but not in "night clubs, bars, taverns and beer joints" Again, if I've understood most of the comments from legislators to this point this committee’s main goal is to see if they can come up with new law to define the differences between the above places so as to allow carry in restaurants and not the others. Of course who knows what will actually come out of it.
