  1. Only if a blackjack or slapper is what you received training on. The way I read the law, training for an expandable baton only allows you to carry an expandable baton, not any impact weapon.
  2. I don't think it is a filtering problem for me. This morning I had two e-mails from TGO on threads I subscribed to, one I got on to TGO though there where 3 other threads (including this one, that I was getting them on) I subscribe to that had new post that I didn't get an e-mail on. I also subscribe to a few sub-forums and haven't got e-mails on updates to them in a while.
  3. It replays at 10:00pm CST on Sunday
  4. Already posted... http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/newsworthy-reports/49587-new-jersey-man-serving-7-years-guns-he-owned-legally.html
  5. My e-mail is through and old ISP I had, but they use Gmail. Mine has been on and off...getting some notifications, but not others. Although in the last little bit have seemed to got all I should. Maybe it was something else going on...
  6. Yep....caught myself actually flexing when Clay and Jax smiled after the horn honking....
  7. My e-mail notifications have been on and off. Like I did get the e-mail that a new post had been made in this thread, but have been going through other threads I'm subscribed to and never got an e-mail. I remember Dave posting that something he was doing may effect e-mail notifications....thought it might be related to that, but that has been a while ago too.
  8. I don't really OC either...however many think that if more did, it might be seen as common practice and/or the general public more likely to consider someone armed as no big deal.
  9. According to Handgunlaw.us National Cemeteries (including the parking lot) are off-limits. http://www.handgunlaw.us/states/usa.pdf
  10. Yep...when I dispatched all I did was pass the buck really. I did ask questions to try and get all the info I could to pass on to the responders. Like on this type of call I would ask what the person was doing etc.... Besides the law I think part of this goes back to what I said in another thread about the perception of guns in the current culture. That most don't need to see anyone doing something wrong/strange and have a weapon, that simply having one itself is enough to cast doubt on the person's intentions.
  11. +1 AFAIK TN law doesn't address the issue of pepper/chemical sprays at all. But many places do restrict the sale of it on their own.
  12. That is a very large part of it.....
  13. There are others that know more, but based on what others I have posted...I don't think legally he could take it back himself. All those ATF check points between here and there you know.... Legally you can send to a FFL there, if you can find one that will take it from an individual, otherwise FFL to FFL will be the way to go.
  14. Handgunlaw.us When you click on a state it brings up a separate page. On that page there are several links in the upper right, one is to that state's laws. If you scroll down first, it usually says where that state's firearms laws can be found.
  15. You're right. Those signs never legally prevented carry. Only warned of the consequences of illegal carry when it was illegal by statute.
  16. Again I understand...and part of me still somewhat agrees with you. It's just lately I have felt if it is your property you should be able to control it as you see fit, without any outside interference. The problem lately is the culture....guns are seen as bad regardless and the person with it is not judged on their own. Also everyone is looking for payday via the court system. Or stated differently, firearms and those that posses them are seen as a liability (in general at least) and property owners are trying to reduce their liability, whether real or perceived. That being said, as long as an individual understands the consequences of carry where one does not wish it and is willing to accept them if found out...then carry on I say
  17. I understand what you are saying. It's just that some say if there is a business that doesn't allow firearms by patrons or emplyoees, that by choosing to do business with them or work there you are disarming yourself not the business....
  18. Ooops....sometimes when you transpose letters it can really give a whole new meaning to the word... lol
