1. Just to clarify my entire signal from the pole to the house is ran over one pair of twisted wires. There is an additional twisted pair of wires in the jacket that are unused. Four wires total. Good news for my neighbor! ( I live in a duplex and he is thinking of switching)   Also I am only paying for the 6 mbps plan but am getting abobut 7.3 down and 1.5 up. Good enough for what I do. He said I could go up two more levels though at least though.
2. Well it's done and it works! I have what they call a 25mb profile which is supposedly good.
3. Well the tech is at my house now doing the inside install including new wires from the drop box to the wall. He also has a lift truck coming out now to install a new wire from the pole to the house. Hopefully I have it done tonight haha. At least they are actually doing the inside stuff so I won't have to be there if they need to come back.    I've read about the bonded pair and all that stuff but haven't studied into it much. You are probably right on the wire. I bet if I peeled the insulation back that copper wire would look good as new except for the ends. Either way I should have all new wire now. I'm curious to see which "tier" I get based on my distance from the VRAD. Hopefully I get full service and can record 4 shows at once or whatever the number is.
4. You normally have to click edit on the original/first post and it will allow you to change it there. I have never been able to do it any other way. Always got the same error.
5. But what could they have done at the pole without running any new wiring? Maybe just a faulty piece of equipment and not getting any signal at all at the time of first testing?
6. They also verified with their signal tester that I now had a sufficient signal. Which from what they told me was a very accurate test.
7. Well luckily many in my neighborhood have it with no issues.
8. I cancelled my Comcast service Saturday and am switching over to Uverse. I had installation set for this past Saturday but when the tech arrived he notified me that they would need to run new line from the pole to the house due to a lacking signal(old wires). The nearest little black box that you see periodically handing from the lines was about 75 yards from the house so this is where the run would come from. They were supposed to do that yesterday but did not run a new wire to the house. My neighbor did verify they came and did some work at the pole and ATT verifies they got an acceptable at my house afterwards. What could they have done at the pole to improve signal without running new wire? Some kind of amplifier?   I am familiar with the twisted pair wiring they are using now but the aerial line to my house is older and I'm sure just regular "flat"wire. They are coming back today to install and am hoping it's right! I don't have any doubt they can make it work but it sure is a pain in the butt!
9. I might finally get to shoot mine this weekend!!
10. Spots would just throw the hammer at you Thor style.
11. Looks cool but I guess my first question is why?  Other than cool factor would this serve a purpose? Military/LE/etc?   Not bashing it or the ingenuity either. Just wondering the motivation.
12. So mine has the xmark trigger. Not the pro. The only difference is it doesn't have the external adjustment screw. I have taken it down and adjusted the weight internally to 3 pounds or so but am pondering a new trigger now. I won't send it in. Right now I'm in the "just shoot it" camp. I didn't see any gunk in it.
13. Yeah I ended up with two of the smaller ones. Good for case knives but some of my larger knives don't fit well. Good quality though.
14. I am about to pee my pants watching this!!
15. Dang didn't know this was tonight! Glad I found this thread.
16. Gotta find the positives!
17.
Perfect example of why you secure your wifi and don't let anyone use it no matter what - whether it be from that shared comcast network or from you just being nice. This could've easily ended up in a shoot out if it happened to people on here. & sure they ended up getting the guy thanks to some help from the FBI, but first they ransacked an innocent person's home and put themselves and the residents' lives at risk by doing so. Oh and then the cops said, well we were "objectively reasonable" and they're not responsible for it. http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=6e7_1407930108
Wow. Never thought of that.
18. How about pew, pew, pew, pew all the way across the back glass?
19. I would think so if it's reflective. It's meant to be seen after all. I'd go with solid orange.
20. Beer, 2x4's and water. All a man needs.
21. I put my belt and holster on first then put the gun in. Never dropped it but don't want to chance it. That'd be a tough scratch to live with. I've given up on iwb though so it's much easier to get ready now.
22. Maybe he has a knife cane and the gun was a decoy to draw in would be victims.   I mean when else are you gonna get to use a knife cane?
23. Where did you hear that? I always though they just followed the states laws. Not disagreeing just wondering.
24. I would have asked what my gun has to do with some other guys misplaced non working bomb.
