sounds reasonable for a tester just shooting it with iron sights and holding it. I was going to say that a 3 inch hole is a lot of rounds, and I doubt they empty a full box per pistol. Dumb question, but was the revolver shooting single action/cocked when you did it?

its the barrel. Inside the barrel of the typical semi auto shotgun is a gas port and that gas is what cycles the gun. You can have a gunsmith bore them out to cycle very, very weak loads. The barrels rated for short 12 ga will cycle short 12 ga. unless very weak ammo, and a gunsmith can enlarge the holes to cycle the weak stuff but stouter ammo will recoil a lot more after doing that. Semi auto action reduces the recoil a lot. Put on an improved recoil pad and the gun is fairly gentle with typical short 12ga shells. I assume by short you mean the 2.75 or whatever standard ammo. If the ammo is nonstandard, you may need to lighten up the springs inside as well as modify the barrel to cycle stuff that is weaker than the regular weak ammo.

Yea its really tempting to start an anti-sniper-rifle campaign (deer rifles to us normal folks) just to stir up these so called gun friendly hunting rifle only demorats. Maybe if THEIR guns are a target, they will understand a little better. Not tempting enough to DO it, but tempting because I wonder if any of them would actually see the light.

Getting started in competitive shooting

they have 3 gun cowboy & idpa, and leave one weekend open for people to use the range. And they do not shoot until late on sunday as there used to be (pre tornados ) a church nearby. That may chance, dunno, maybe its tradition now... -
glad you guys liked it. Most of them are just silly, but there are a handful of gems in it. Im jealous, I want to make a living tormenting folks on the web too...
-
they are easy to get out of, and I would not leave someone unattended with nothing but zips for restraint. If nothing else, the plastic in the commercial ones fatigues fast and will tear after that, just takes time and effort and no one looking.

you can find parts and help doing a restore on gunboards; its a forum dedicated to these types of guns and a good chunk of their time is spent fixing guns like yours, that just need a little TLC to get back to original state. Take a lot of good pictures and they will point out any unmatched or wrong parts and help you get it right.
My experience there are just people who play games, lead you on, just for the fun it. 99.9% of the time they have a yahoo or google email account. They have no intention of buying, just gaming you. After a few volley's of email, then I will share my number with them.
Ya think? This is one of my favorites... Its generally rude but not "adult" so you were warned if you click! http://dontevenreply.com/view.php?post=104

425 is around what an eaa witness (there are 150 variations of this, but the basic model) costs new ... which is also a well made 75 clone. For whatever that is worth...

my wife carried hers in one of the small frame generic black nylon jobs, the ones that have a velcro adjustable snapping stap across the back and an extra mag pouch with a velcro strap over them, you know the $20 ones that come in every size. -

Im at the cleveland rifle club, its off lead mine valley road in cleveland. A little farther for you but lots of the folks shoot at both. Idpa is next weekend, 3 gun was yesterday, 1 month between so you could try out idpa next weekend. Its probably still an hour drive for you. I used a p89 for a long time, they are just fine. I had 3 17 round mags I think, been a while since I looked closely. I think idpa has some sort of weird limit on the mag capacity or how many you put in anyway. I think they shoot in the rain. 3 gun does, anyway, unless its really, really bad. -
OMG.. my head hurts!!! I been dealing with emails and people on craigslist for the last week or so now. I am trying to sell my horse trailer. How hard is it to read and add.. then compose a e-mail to ask additional questions? It seem NO one ever read then dang thing in the first place.. Here is one I got from someone.. After I included 8 pictures.. No please or thank you..just this .. And not sure what a "Gilden" is...I bet he means "Gelding"For someone who is in the horsebusiness, you would think he could at least spell that one word right.. ..lol And we spend all day waiting for a guy to come out to look at it.. after he wrote a whole paragraph about how he liked it.. He never showed up..Assclown!! Ok/rant off My spicey Pumkinbread is done... our club isnt too far from you and is very casual for 3 gun. They allow you to use a 10-22 for example. Their IDPA guys are more picky (its like goldilocks: that gun is too big, this one too small, only glocks are just right, ....) but would probably let you shoot anything the first few times to give it a try with what you have. What you need for 3g is a defensive pistol, defensive shotgun, and semi automatic rifle. Typically a 9mm, 12 ga, and 223 but that is not required its just the most common. Must have a sturdy holster for the pistol on a sturdy belt. Everything else is optional --- some folks have hundreds and hundreds of dollars in gear, others hardly anything. Most folks have an optic on their rifle. Most folks have at least 2 mags for rifle and pistol, most have 3-4 for pistols. You can probably shoot skeet with any shotgun, though I would avoid pump for it, but you don't get to take extra shots, you still only get 2. Most clubs would welcome you to come watch and ask questions. For that, remember to have hearing and eye protection. If you want to do it seriously, you need to study gear a LOT and get it right the first time. That is, you want to compete and go to bigger competitions and so on. Serious competitiors try to have every advantage with gear, such as shotgun speed loaders or magazine fed shotguns, customized pistols, high end optics, and so on. The competition side of it (the serious folks) take the fun out of it for me so I will leave it at that --- I just do it for the fun of it and to get a little activity and a bit of practice shooting on the move etc. -
I have some really, really old ammo that says luballoy or something like that.
Rim crush depth looks the same as on any other .22 to me, unless you mean something about the compound used on the inside, whatever exactly .22 primer is made of. - OS
no idea. could be a bad lot. I was thinking light strikes but if the brass is hit, its hit.

My wife swears by the stuff. She has shot up 2 double packs (1k & change bundles) and is on the third one. I did not like it (seemed to throw one round out of 10-15 way off center, usually low, and no, its not the shooter, the blazer stuff is all in a group). It has had a few duds but nothing like 1/10 or even 1/20. More like 1/100 for her. I wonder if the primer is extra hard?

put down a bunch of bait and inform the authorities

dry fire it once before you buy it.

ruger mark target pistol. The ammo is cheap. Its accurate, and can be used to train both target and combat stance/grips. It will last her a lifetime. Later, she can pick out her own carry gun, once she has had a chance to look at them and try some stuff. If that is no answer, get her a 9mm, lower priced ammo, middle of the road recoil. Do you know anything about her likes and dislikes?!

Suggestions on home defense shotguns
Jonnin replied to jwinter's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
the pump noise is exactly the same as the auto noise. If you want to play the empty gun give away your position and hope it scares them game, leave the auto empty, bolt open, and tap the feed ramp to shuck on in with a standard empty pump sound. Why you would do that for either type of gun (have it unloaded) is beyond my ability to comprehend, but the type of gun is unimportant. -

I will be the odd man out and say get an auto. Mine is a rem 1100 that was used at $250. There are a *few* folks that can do it, same as there are a *few* folks that can make a revolver sound like an auto when they shoot, but the average person cannot jockey a pump as fast as an auto -- I have seen it time and time again at 3 gun, the pumps come in below the autos nearly every time. A few bucks for a mag tube and you can empty 11 rounds of short 12 ga in a few seconds. Another few bucks for the easy loader modification and its done, an excellent platform. If cramped for space, mine would be little big as it is full sized, but that is easy to fix. -
the feg is rugged and going to be a well made copy of an awesome design. They are not making any more of them to my knowledge. The kel tec is an inexpensive pistol with a harsh trigger that is still in production and easy to find. I would get the feg, because its going to be harder to find and better made and I can manage its trigger. But when you start talking about carrying it, it comes down to your choices. THe kel is smaller, lighter. The feg is heavy, managable recoil and trigger. They are about as different as it gets ... its like asking if you want a 1911 or a glock for your carry gun... only you can pick between such different pistols to carry!
Yep, he's sayin it ain't over till it's over. Course, he predicted a comfortable win for Mitt, too.
several states are "called" that are nowhere near clearly one or the other. Including michigan & ohio. Odds are, they are right, but this one may be down to the wire.

AP has obama at 230 with 55 coming from CA soon. BUT the ap at least has called several states that have less than 5% difference and less than 75% counted..... Its not over, but its not looking good. In florida and ohio, gary's votes would have tied it up. Its that close. And neither one is done. Interestingly ca has mit in the lead atm.
