  1. I was originally on Lisinopril and after a few months I also had a dry cough.  Then I had what they called a rare side effect.  My lungs were filling with fluid.  Several times my vision shifted to yellow and then pure white.  Per my doctor I was having Hypoxia and was close to death.  Since then I have had several friends that were prescribed Lisinopril right after they were diagnosed and had the same problem. My doc changed me to Losartin and I have not had the same side effect since.
  2. Tennessee Firearms Training Academy Pulaski, Tn. 931-363-3863   Women and beginners are most welcome.   Jeff Perry
  3. The Fayetteville, Tn store sells reloading supplies.  It is like their ammo, selections vary from time to time.  When they have them, Hornady XTP bullets are about the cheapest in the area.
  4. I shot a 175lb boar in Florida while it was coming at me with my .308 with Remington 168gn coreloks.  Hit him close to center spine just above the front shoulders at less than 3 feet and it kinda made him mad.  I was really surprised it did not put him down!  While he was busy trying to get to my ankles, the outfitter killed him with a knife.  Very interesting critter to hunt.  He hunts you back.  Correct shot placement is the key.  Horsepower helps.
  5. Got one, love the way ist shoots.  No FTE's or FTF malfunctions.  I make sure my arm is locked out and keep it low in my hand.  Beware of your thumb because it is easy to let is rub on the slide during firing.  I have done fast double and tripple taps with no errors.  I have used Privy Partisan and light Winchester target loads in it and it just keeps running.  It is cute and very light to carry.  Looks kinda puny next to my 20C too.  The trigger was a bit on the stiff side but it is getting better the more I shoot it.
  6. Glock 42.  Remember to keep it low and lock the wrist and elbow.  I have yet to make it hiccup.  Rapid fire is no problem.  Accuracy is good.  Recoil is very light and muzzle jump is very low. The extractor seems a little tuned.  The brass piles up in a 2 foot circle about a foot from my leg.   I like it better than my 238 so far.
  7. I have tried the RCBS swager, the Lee and Lyman reamers and they are all slow and tedious to use.  I finally bought one of the Dillon Super Swagers and it works great!,  Simple and fast to use and does not cause blisters of sore fingers.  Its price is a little higher than the rest but well worth it.  I am just a little miffed I did not buy one years ago!
  8. I have had the opportunity to speak with a surgeon about this round. He did a lot of fornesic testing for the government and he told me one of the primary reasons for discontinuing this ammo in the past. I do not have any information for the current flavors. He told me that in the ER, when working on a gunshot victim, the most common way of finding a bullet in the body is to probe with your fingers. The problem is the way that the jacket of the Talon folds back. It peels rearward until it contacts the base of the bullet and the bends outwards 90 degrees to the CL of the bullet. These petals produce an extremely sharp point that can puncture the gloves of the surgeon. Even if the gloves are doubled up, the tip can still penetrate and cut the surgeon's finger. This can lead to the surgeon contracting HIV/AIDS inadvertently if the victim is positive.
  9. I have 2 that are missing some small parts. Make me an offer...
  10. Guys, you forgot my favorite, pull the bullet, pour the powder on your roses (they really like it) and shoot the primer with a BB gun!
  11. Hello Luke, I am located in Pulaski and have a Lyman turret press set up for 5.56. I also have case prep and trimming equipment for rifle and handguns. There are many good brands out there but the main thing is that it can be a little intimidating to your wallet initially to buy everything needed at one time. The cost of the accessories can add up and most of us add to our collections a little at a time. You are welcome to come by and I could show you how to use your press to load 5.56. I have been reloading since the early 80's. Feel free to contact me if you're interested. You will have to bring your own brass, bullets, primers and brass.
  12. The Outpost Armory. Great selection, good prices and knowledgeable people. Ask for Chuck on weekends. He has been a great help for me. They stock Dillon, RCBS, Lee, Hornady and Redding.
  13. I took a dense class given by my local police and he was telling me of an actual trial in Alabama where a guy defended himself with a gun and also used reloads he had made. The Prosecuting Attorney used the argument that is wasn't good enough for the guy to use factory ammo but he had to make CUSTOM KILLER ammo to make sure he killed the guy. The defendant won the case but the subject of reloads did come up in the trial. I recommend to all my students to use factory ammo in their defense guns to prevent this kind of argument during trial.
  14. Do you every get to Huntsville or Pulaski? I am a class 6 FFL holder and can load your ammo. If you are in the area, look me up. Jeff Perry Tennessee Firearms Training Academy Pulaski, Tn.
  15. The Tenenssee Firearms Training Academy in Pulaski, Tennessee host a combat match on the first Sunday of each month. No world-class shooters here so far but they are welcome. Many of the stages are based on real-life scenarios. The gear and the guns are based on what you would use for everyday concealed carry. It is a great way for the shooter to practice everyday methods and techniques. Everyone is welcome!
