  1. I'd love to have a skinner sized knife from Volunteer Knife. Their website shows no knives available at this time. Is there another way to get a knife from them?
  2. Try a Boker Plus...https://www.knifecenter.com/item/BO01BO605/boker-plus-clb-subcom-titan-folding-knife-vg10-blade-titanium-handles. I've carried one for the past 20 years as a money clip.
  3. My wife bought me one last year for Christmas, so this will be my first year hunting with it. It is a 6.5 Creedmoor. I have sighted it in shooting less than 1 inch groups at 300 yards with hand loads. I'm looking very forward to gun season.
  4. Leupold VX-3 3.5-10x40. $479.99. www.natchezss.com.
  5. This time of the year, you'll find that most of the deer, does and bucks, are nocturnal. And with the heat we've been having they are moving even more at night.
  6. Try this http://www.farmhousehuntingpreserve.com/. Mr. Hillis is a fine man.

    Ticks

Duranon tick repellent is an excellent product. It does contain permethrin, it needs to be sprayed on the night prior to hunting, it is designed to work after it dries and works for extended periods of time.
  8. I carry a Sig P228, 9mm in a cheap Fobus paddle holster. Easy to get to and holds the gun in place well.
  9. Don's Meat Shop 6410 Hixson Pike Hixson, TN 37343 423/842-1256 $45 for standard processing. Don charges extra for summer sausage, $10/sausage. 1-2 day turnaround. All cuts vacuum sealed and labeled. Don's is a Hunters for the Hungry processor. Deer must be field dressed. I highly recommend Don's! Wonderful people.
  10. 8-pointer killed Nov. 27th on Mowbray Mtn., near Soddy Daisy.
  11. Also, picture of mine and another killed the same day on our lease on Mowbray Mtn.
  12. For the record, I never said he was a monster.
  13. Thank you Slim! I also heard of a guy named Norm Brannom via personal message in East Ridge. Thanks again.
  14. Could anyone suggest a taxidermist in the Chattanooga/Hamilton County area? Thanks for the help.

    40 vs the 9mm?

If you didn't like the G23 as far as fit goes, you really won't like the Compact M&P. They are tiny. I have owned or own the G19, G22 and the G23 and my favorite carry weapon is the G19.
  16. One answer to the question, "What's up with Bud's?" NEW OWNER! Bud sold Bud's, still has Bud's Police Supply. You heard it here first!
  17. Police officers in Chattanooga, in my experience, are mostly hard working, dlilgent people. If you are going to open carry, all I ask is, WHY? What's the point? Be prepared for confrontation. If that's what you're looking for, confrontation, you'll be happy.
  18. Ever consider sleeping during the day and going to work rested?
