  1. I like the carbon fiber look above. I'd like to maybe do that to my Glock 22. How durable is the coating? Sent from my Droid RAZR Maxx
  2. I know it says you're looking for a pistol but I just have to throw in how much I love my new Ruger Single-Ten. It's a single action 10 shot revolver. It has factory adjustable fiber optic sights. I posted some pics on here the day I bought it. I have fell in love with this gun. Sent from my Droid RAZR Maxx
  3. I have never been much of a knife person. I don't know very much about knives. I have a few pocket knives and some folding Gerber pliers. But I guess I would have to say that these are my favorite. The Buck folding pocket knife stays in my vehicle. The bigger Gerber I always take with me hiking and camping. It has cleaned many of fish though. I also bought a KA-BAR a few years ago. It has a nice holster and it fits good in my hand. I carried it a lot when I was an OTR truck driver. Sent from my Droid RAZR Maxx
  4. I am hoping to buy a 2012 this year. I have an 05 TJ 4.0. It's my daily driver and has plenty of power but I'm only averaging 14-15 MPG. It hurts that it is the inline 6 with an auto and a 4"lift with 32's but the pentastar is much better on mileage. I couldn't resist putting a pic up of my baby Sent from my Droid RAZR Maxx
  5. This is a news article about a shooting that took place in Columbia this morning. I drove by the scene in my work truck and got a look. News crews have been out all day. Wonder what the firearm was. http://www.columbiadailyherald.com/sections/news/local/police-two-dead-one-injured-east-james-campbell-shootings-video.html
  6. Well, I went out and done some shooting with it yesterday. I took out a cheap 525 count Federal box and only came back with around a hundred or so unspent in the box. It was smooth. Had no failures. I love the adjustable sights. I would have to seriously recomend this gun to anyone wanting to do some plinking or small game hunting. Sent from my Droid RAZR Maxx
  7. Pistol: .22 LR, .38 special, .357 mag .40, 9mm, .357 sig (barrel for Glock 22), 10mm Long Gun: .410, 12 gauge, 30-30, 30-06, .223, 22lr, .17 hmr, 7.62x39 and as of this month I'll be the proud owner of a 25-06
  8. Thanks. I can't wait to take it out. Sent from my Droid RAZR Maxx
  9. Well I just bought a Ruger Single-Ten today. My fiance has been showing some interest in shooting. I own mostly Glock pistols and a few Ruger DA wheel guns. We bought her a Glock 26 at the Nashville show last weekend and she seems to like it better than my g22 as far as shootability. But anyways she wants to shoot some more so I told her that we'd get her a Mark series Ruger or a single-action, which is my favorite for plinking. I've owned a couple Heritage rough-rider SA .22's but this single-ten is such a beautiful gun. Just bought it this evening and I'm ready to take her out Saturday with it. Has anyone else bought this gun and have any likes or dislikes? Sent from my Droid RAZR Maxx
  10. I think I will tell the store since 2 books purchased there had the stickies in them. I was just curious if anyone else had encountered this. Sent from my Droid RAZR Maxx
  11. Oh yeah maybe advertisement was a wrong word. I know the book company didn't do it. Someone did along the line though. I just wonder if someone came into the book store and did it or some worker at the press did it. Sent from my Droid RAZR Maxx
  12. My first vehicle was a 94 Ford Ranger XLT 2.3 liter 4cyl. It came from Stan McNabb in Lewisburg. Tough trucks.
  13. I recently purchased The Gun Digest Book of the Glock 2nd Edition from A Barnes & Noble in Cool Springs. I was thumbing through the pages and found a sticky note with "resist.com" printed on it. After mentioning this to a friend, they told me they found the same sticky note in a gun value book from the same store a month or so earlier. The two books came from two different publishers. So I went to the site and did some research on a few other sights and resist.com appears to be a white supremacy website. Some weird stuff. I just wonder if anyone else has found this in any of their new books ...
  14. The worst gun I have ever owned was a Phoenix Arms .22 semi auto. I can't recall the model. After less than 200 rounds the firing pin/striker flew out of the rear of the slide. Poor design.
  15. I started dressing up a couple of my glocks a few years ago with a white crayon. I can't really remember where I got the idea. It would work on any black gun I guess but the white on the black tennifer looks good I think. Some of you may have heard of this before. Just thought I'd share. Just take a white crayon and rub over the lettering in the slide making sure to fill it in. Then, just whipe the slide down real good with a cloth. And to my surprise, the white doesn't really get dirty as you'd think. I redo my carry gun every 3-4 months and my night stand gun shown here has only been done 2 times in 2 years.
  16. I have had TruDot on my Glock 23 for about 2 1/2 years now. Still just as bright as day one.
  17. My gen. 3 23 is my main carry. It also sleeps in the night stand at night.
  18. I think this weekend I'm going to pick one up.
  19. Good taste friend. Only semi autos I buy now. I have the 20,22,23,26,32,and the 34
  20. I looked at those too online. I think I'm gonna do it. The more I handle it, the more I want it.
  21. I have been looking at a new Henry Varmint Express .17hmr. Every time I go in the local gun shop, I can't help but to go pick it up and look at it. I have owned a Marlin bolt action .17 in the past but i like the idea of having 11 rounds in the tube of a lever gun. I like the round. Not too expensive to shoot. I took a few possums and a beaver with it. But anyway, does anyone own this gun or have any experience with it? Any input appreciated. Thanks y'all. http://www.henryrepeating.com/rifle-varmint-express.cfm
  22. I vote the lcr. I don't have any experience with the p238 but I do own and occasionally carry the .357 lcr. I've shot it with many types of .357 and .38 special. The factory grip takes up a suprising amount of the recoil. Nice solid gun with smooth, smooth da trigger. I love mine.
  23. I am fortunate enough to be able to carry at work. I was an OTR truck driver for the last 5 years and they had a policy against it but the company (1 man) that I work for now is a gun owner himself and just recently got his carry permit. So now I wear it from the time I get dressed in the morning till I come home. My onion, I would carry but deep conceal. No job is worth your life.
  24. For the last five years I have been an over the road truck driver. Been to 48 states. Got tired of not being home. Now I drive locally for a company hauling containers with a roll-off truck. I am also a volunteer fire fighter. I plan on going into law enforcement this year.
  25. I took mine with a Taurus 24/7 9mm, although I am not a Taurus fan. I can't really remember the distances. It wasn't bad thought. Something like 15-20 rounds at 5,10 and 15 yards. It was by no means a sharp shooting contest. You'll do fine.
