  1. Man, I'm gonna get beat about the head and shoulders, but... at least I'm able to admit when I'm wrong. Many of you have heard me express my dislike of the M&P series. I now have a .45 Shield on my hip. Wound up trading my trusty Glock 36 in. This feels better, holds one more round, shoots better and more comfortably... ... proceed with the beatings...
  2. I have a Kimber Custom II and am looking for a full size 45acp poly frame. I have a potential trade for a Beretta Px4 storm in 45 acp. I am leaning on doing the deal, but have never fired the Beretta. Any comments pro or con would be appreciated. Thanks
  3. Like the title says, Are you completely happy with your pistol choice? What make pistol and what would you change. Go ahead and tell us what you would design!
  4. Just got a new CZ P-07 and the 2 mags that came with it are the new type that fit the P-07 and P-10c. Ordered some extra mags from CZ and they are the old style mags. Just a heads up.
  5. About two months ago I sent one of my medium Sig P320 Compact grip modules over to Alex Pappadia at SG Armory to have him work it over with his Stage 1 grip package. This package included slightly reshaping and then stippling the frame to my specifications and a very nice undercut to the trigger guard to allow me to really mash it down into my hand the way that I prefer. All in all, I am extremely happy with the way this turned out. Alex did top-notch work. It feels great in the hand; far better than stock. There is definitely a difference between work done by a guy like Alex who knows what he's doing, and a neophyte with a wood burning tool. http://sgarmory.com/ https://www.facebook.com/thesgarmory/ https://www.instagram.com/sg_armory/

If you have one of these in your gun, your trigger sucks.
  7. Hey guys, I'm debating getting a cdp gun for idpa, and am looking at the glock 41 or 21. Any thoughts from someone with cdp experience? I could go the 1911 route but I've got so much glock experience it would be an easy transition (and cheaper)
  8. Just received my 75B Omega back from David, very pleased with his customer service and looking forward to shooting it tomorrow. My Omega was needing a trip to a qualified gunsmith after having been fixed by a local expert. How one can take 4 months to booger up a hammer and sear as result of replacing a trigger bar spring is beyond comprehension. Contacted CGW in late February, was advised they were taking in no new work until late March / April. David told me he manages the inflow so he and his team can focus on the guns on the bench vs. the backlog of guns on the shelf. Received email from CGW, ready for additional work, if still interested, please contact. Opted for the Pro Package. Process for work order, shipping, etc all handled by CGW, combination of email and phone 8- 10 week promised turn time. Sent mid April, returned in approximately 8 weeks. Received a call from David verbally detailing the work completed and final cost. He replaced the sear, added $9 to my original quote. Credit card by phone for payment. Comparing the trigger action to my SDP from CZC, the Omega trigger is better. It's got to have something to do with geometry... I also think it equates the quality of work put out by David and Angus. Comparing the P01 to the 75B, note the differences in the pics: the upswept beaver tail allows me to get a slightly higher grip. Omega specific, the shape of the trigger is more comfortable for my itchy trigger finger and shorter reset/take up.

Carry permit initially denied today. I suspect that a 40 year old charge for felonious assault that is on my background check that was dismissed by the state without prejudice. I just checked the online site and found the denial. This is the only thing on my record except for a bad check charge in 1977. I plan to appeal if this was the reason for denial. Does the state offer the reason for denial in the letter they send? I suspect that they should.
  10. I've been trying to find a CZ-75 in both local gun stores and online and have had no luck whatsoever other than some rough condition used ones at Bud's in Sevierville. Are they actually in short supply right now or do I just happen to be unlucky?
  11. Anyone have one and have any thoughts? Not sure why it's caught my eye and seems like the only reason to get one would be to SBR it. I have SBR's in 223 and 6.8 so I don't have any reason to get one. Probably just looks cool is why I'm looking at it.
  12. Anybody shot one of these? Cool little AR pistol. The magwell is a module that you change out to use different mags. The one in the video takes glock mags but you can get a different module to take M&P mags and they are working on others.
  13. DWARREN123

    FN 509 9mm

Anyone played with one. Got one Saturday and ran 250 rounds thru it today. Right fine pistol. Trigger quite a bit like the Beretta APX, good and crisp but not real light. Picked it up from Guns & Leather Hendersonville.
  14. Hi, I rarely post, just lurk a lot and take in the info! I had been looking for a pistol in 9mm or .45 to carry in my hydration pack when riding my dirtbike. Ive got several handguns, but wanted something that wouldn't be too heavy or too nice to get banged around. I picked up a sccy cpx-1 at the Outpost earlier this week for 200 bucks and took it to the range this morning. I put 150 rounds of speer lawman 124 grain and 150 rounds of Remington umc 115 grain through it. It performed perfectly, no jams, no fte's, nothing. It was pie-plate accurate out to 10 yards, which is all I expect from it. Recoil is a little snappy but not bad . ( my 13 yo daughter shot about 50 rounds and didn't complain), I have several other high-end pistols, but this is one that suits my needs perfectly. I guess my reason for this post is Ive read pros and cons, watched videos, etc , but it far exceeded my expectations. If I only had a budget of 200 for a pistol, this would be the one.
  15. I'm gonna buy a pistol upper from PSA, but confused on what length barrel to get.I was going to go with the 10.5 inch, but would maybe a shorter one like the 7.5 or 8.5 inch. Will the shorter barrel lengths function like they are suppose to?Ice read that anything shorter than a 10.5 won't run well.
  16. Just announced, FYI http://www.waltherarms.com/rebate100/ Curious of thoughts about what they offer that compete against S&W's Shield?

    Glock 20sf

Ill start off with saying im not a huge fan of glocks but i recently picked up a 2nd hand unfired gen 3 glock 20sf... bc lets face it its a 10mm at a reasonable price point... i havent wasted any time with the pud load 10mm. I went straight for a pile of underwood 200 gr pills claiming 1250 fps... long story but on to my question. Is a higher poundage recoil spring worth it / needed... went to indoor range bc of rain and it was throwing brass almost straight up landing 3 to 4 lanes over the high dividers and on top of another shooter lol
  18. I officially have a very annoying itch to purchase one of the PPQ's. Now, my first carry gun was a CZ P-O1, that progressed to a Glock 19 and I haven't truly been away from a Glock since. I briefly owned an HK VP9 and loved the ergonomics and shot it quite well, but old it and kept the 19. Mainly looking to see opinions from everyone here. I see the Navy SD version can be purchased for about the same price of a Glock 19: https://www.gunbuyer.com/walther-ppq-m2-9mm-navy-4-6-barrel-15-round-black-2796082-wal2796082-gb.html
  19. Seems weird to me, dropping back to a double/single action hammer pistola, while claiming it's uber "intuitive". What's more "intuitive" than striker fired, with same trigger pull each time, no need for decocker? And no cocked and locked either. (edit: wrong, it can be cocked and locked). Seems sort of like a step backward to moi all in all though, but what do I know, probably sell like hotcakes. http://www.springfield-armory.com/xde-features - OS
  20. Thanks to TGO member Bud, I'm the new owner of a S&W Governor. I have probably already shot it more than he did. I shot a few carpender bees doing some skeet shooting off the back deck with #9 .410 plus a box of old .410 shells I had laying around just because it is fun shooting a hand canon and put a box of colt long and acp through it. The real question for me other than price is there a reason you would shoot .45acp over .45 Long Colt? I plan to shoot a lot of acp for fun because of price but was also wondering what the opinion on defensive ammo (other than the .410 options). Does the Long Colt has enough extra umph to override the larger selection of different defensive ammo in acp. The Long Colt is an impressive cartridge when you start loading it around someone that has never seen it before.

  22. How many of you folks like not so main stream pistols? I have CZ's, kind of main stream to some, RIA 1911 9mm, Canik SF Elite 9mm and C-100 9mm, Witness Poly Series small frame 9mm and compact 45 ACP, Sar Arms B6P 9mm. I like these pistols, they work well and do not cost as much as better known name brands usually. I also have a Beretta APX, Kimber Stainless II and Sig 1911-22. All are fun to shoot. What do you have?
  23. I am very interested in buying a CZ P10C but simply don't get out enough, due to work and family obligations, to scour the local market to find them in store. I thought it might be worth a shot to put out an APB for one and see if any of you could help me in my quest.
  24. nevermind , delete , sorry
  25. If anyone owns or has owned a Colt Defender .45 ACP (3" barrel) can you chime in on this. At the range today my first time firing this gun out of about 60 rounds I got smacked in the forehead or nose 3 times. I thought my Glock 19 was bad but this Colt is a bullseye for my face! Would replacing the recoil spring and guide rod with one from Kimber help any??? Photo is my Colt .45ACP next to my Shield 9mm Thanis
