  1. Looking for recommendations for a new AR charging handle. Im interested in one that will make the handle easier to grasp and pull back/ Not sure what you call them, but want bigger 'wings' preferable on both sides.
  2. I didn't know these existed. Has anyone laid eyes on one ? Henry Lever Action Axe Blued/Walnut 410 Gauge 2-1/2in Lever Action Shotgun - 15in
  3. I have both of these and trying downsize a bit. Winchester is a 1979 with some surface rust. Rossi is almost new. I don't have a revolver in the 44 mag so both are just for hunting and home defense. I think they are both similar in close up power??? thoughts on which to keep.
  4. Got this one yesterday evening. I’ve only removed the muzzle brake and put on my suppressor QD as well as a different scope. It’s a BLAST to shoot subs with the can. I enjoy my 10.5” .300 blk SBR but this is just more fun for some reason.
  5. Remember the Somalian poacher's rifle I posted about a year or so back?
  6. Looking at buying another small caliber rifle, got a bunch of .22lr's but wanting something different. I sighted in the RIA .22TCM Rifle for a buddy and man that thing is sweet. Got a bark to it also. The only thing concerns me about it is ammo selection, can only get it at local gun shops. It runs around $20 for a box of 50 and only Armscor is making it I think. Main use will be shooting hogs over corn on my lease and Varmint control. Do know that all three will do the job with the right shot placement. When I'm hunting over corn all I take is a .22lr and it's taking a fair share of wild hogs. Looking for some opinions.
  7. I am looking at a Belgian Browning SA-22 for sale and am trying to determine the date of manufacture. I've scoured a lot of websites and come away more confused than knowledgeable about how to interpret the serial number for manufacture date. Do any of you have any suggestions? And as always, thanks!
  8. If anyone has any idea how to age or identify my latest acquisition, i'd really appreciate the help. All I know is that it's a commercial production on a '98 action in 9x57. It's insanely light (maaaaaybe 6lb) half octagon, half round barrel & the stock is veneer thin around the barrel!
  9. RICE LAKE, Wis., July 30, 2020 /PRNewswire/ -- Henry Repeating Arms Company announced that it is voluntarily recalling all H015-series Single Shot Rifles and Single Shot Shotguns manufactured prior to July 1, 2020. Henry has recently discovered a potential safety issue wherein, under certain conditions, it is possible that some of these models may discharge without the trigger being pulled if the hammer is partially cocked and released. To prevent the possibility of death or serious personal injury, you should immediately stop using all H015-series Single Shot Rifles and Single Shot Shotguns and not load or fire them until they have been upgraded. https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/henry-repeating-arms-issues-safety-warning-and-recall-notice-of-henry-single-shot-rifles-and-shotguns-301103452.html
  10. I'm new to the Nashville area & we'll be staying here for a while. My mother has her father's Mauser from the war that she's going to have to give up in the near future, they'll be at her door on September 1st when the license expires. Looking around I know there's a set of steps we both need to complete to ship the rifle down here. Is it possible in the next month to get all the paperwork & legalities to acquire the rifle. It would be coming from the Bronx. I'm assuming I need a license & proper paperwork to do the transfer. I know google is my friend & I read a few topics here but in the interest of time, I'd like to have my grandfather's rifle in my possession without doing a crash course in this topic, 3 days already. Thanks in advance.
  11. Figured I'd post the results of the .450 Bushmaster that CVA has in the Scout. I bought one mostly for hog hunting and I'm glad I did, this thing is accurate. The ammo I'm using is the Hornady Custom 250gr FTX. Here's he results
  12. The U.S. Navy is now employing a laser rifle for use as a deterrence device. Maritime law does not allow a laser to be used to permanently blind an individual, so this one only temporarily affects eyesight and optical equipment. https://www.thedrive.com/the-war-zone/35106/check-out-this-sailor-holding-a-laser-dazzler-rifle-aboard-nuclear-submarine-uss-minnesota Looks like they took a Butler Creek folding stock for a 10/22 or Mini 14 and added a laser and scope to it. Pretty cool!
  13. Ran across a rifle and caliber combination that ive always liked for sale. Initial inspection points toward a Eddystone or comparable 1917 rebarreled to a 280 Remington based on the wide floorplate and the bolt but possibly a Mauser 93 after looking at the end of the bolt, safety and the trigger.. Bottom line, ive not seen it in person so im unsure but would be ok with either. I shot a 1917 Eddystone 30-06 for about 15 years before it was stolen , but Always heard the 280 was one of the best of both worlds. Anybody have any other suggestions on what this gun is if its not what I am thinking it is. I have not held it in my hands yet, but from the pictures, i think thats what it is. The young man that has it really has no clue what it is other than a 280. Also anybody with experience shooting the 280 Remington and reloading or can recommend their favorite ammo combo in it? I am use to shooting a 30-06 and love the versatility of it, but after 20 years, I figured i might try a different breed. Will be primarily a White Tail gun with the occasional elk and mule deer in its crosshairs. Recommendations ?

    PSA AR Kit

I am looking to finally pick up an AR but I am a complete newb to the AR world. I am looking for something that would be limited to occasional range trips and home defense. Right now that role is filled by a Winchester Defender stoked with 00buck. I ran across this kit at PSA that seems to fit the bill. https://palmettostatearmory.com/psa-16-mid-length-5-56-nato-1-7-nitride-13-5-lightweight-m-lok-classic-rifle-kit-with-mbus-sight-set-5165448515.html?___store=default I know I will need to pickup a lower, some mags and at some point some kind of optic. Any options on this kit? PSA seems like a decent choice as far as ARs go.
  15. Have an upper and BCG/CH on the way from KM Tactical in Missouri. Seems to be a standard upper and such, however, I am curious as to whether or not it is a 5.56 or a .223 barrel because as its described it looks as it may be either/or. It does have a note that it would be a Wylde chambering depending on stock availability of those barrels. I guess i could be that guy that asks the warehouse but hate to bother them. It did ship out today so im excited to get it in and start shooting. What would your best guesses be on if its a .223 or 5.56 based on the listing? https://www.gunbroker.com/item/870313215 im not one to dive too deep into the 5.56/223 differences, but curiosity has already killed one cat. This will be going on one of the Dont Tread on Snek Lowers that i recently bought on TGO.
  16. I hope that I am at the correct location. I am looking to get a 10-22 Kidd barrel threaded. Does anyone know who preforms this service in the N/E Tn area ( Bristol)? Thanks for the help
  17. I got this article in a Guns America e-mail today. I guy in the UK modified a Ruger 96/44 into a belt fed, lever action bull-pup .44 magnum rifle. Amazing what people can come up with. I thought y'all might find it interesting. Belt fed lever action .44 Magnum Bull-pup

A new to me CZ 455FS in .22LR

Like new condition, walnut, box w/ all paperwork/test target and a Mueller 8-32x44 fine duplex. Bill https://imgur.com/7ilpe5v https://imgur.com/rO4olWq
  19. I'm looking into buying a decent bolt .22lr for mostly squirrel hunting but will also be used for wild hogs under 50yds. I'm torn between either the Ruger American Go Wild or the Savage B22 FVSR. I do have some experience with Savage, I've currently got a A22 Target Thumbhole that can put 10 shots in a dime at 50yds. I've dropped many a pig with stingers and ear shots. But I'm wanting a synthetic bolt gun now for those longer hikes and the shorter barrel. Anybody using either model that can give me some feedback? Leaning towards the Ruger just because it looks sweet and itd match my Ruger American 6.5 Creedmoor in Go Wild. Looking forward to some opinions.
  20. Got a friend who's brother bought a Sota Arms AR-15 at a gun show. I have never heard of them. From what reviews I've read about them, they seem kinda of hit or miss in the quality department. Anyone here ever heard of them or has one? Are they any good? Thanks.
  21. Hello, I am new to shotguns and just received mine, but I am uncertain which ammo I need for home self defense. I was trying to get through the jungle of different ammunition, but it is impossible. Can someone please tell me which I need? Maybe brand , # Shot, oz, FPS. Thank you very much.
  22. Picked up a couple lever guns recently. Here is the first one. Looks like a standard Marlin 336 in 30-30 with a ugly scope and see thru rings. First off I took the scope and rings off. I do need to find plugs so the screws don't stick up. The reason this is an oddball is because this model was only made for about 3 years from late '79 till about '83. This is a Marlin 375 in .375 Winchester. You just do not see many of these around anymore. One of the nice things about .375 Winchester is that you can also shoot Buffalo Bore .38-55 in it. The next one is a Marlin 336 but in .44 Mag. I also picked up a Ruger Redhawk in .44 Mag to go with the Marlin.
  23. I have completed the building of a; Romanian AIMS 74 Childer's receiver, Paratrooper folding stock, Engraved Eagle of Romania, Parts Matching, 5.45x39, with markings, double trigger humps, Kreb's Custom Retainer Plate, FIME trigger, one Tapco 30 round magazine. How much would you gentlemen think this is worth? I am going to fire it tomorrow, but just wanted to have an idea what people think of my first AK Build.
  24. Drill, tap, etc? Anybody local to Nashville that’s good. Thanks
  25. If LPVO’s had been popular in Cooper’s day, would he have accepted them for his scout rifle concept? One of his reasons for the forward mounted optic was to facilitate the use of stripper clips for fast reloads. The common use of detachable box mags now negates that need. He also wanted to avoid scope eye. And that may be the hang up that he couldn’t get past. But the ability to use a true 1x as a red dot but also with the most current batch be able to turn up to a 10 power scope might just change his mind. Oh, and he loved both eyes open so that goes along with the red dot too!
