  1. I just ordered one for a house gun my wife can shoot. Reviews claim the recoil is half what the 12 Ga model is, we shall see. Free shipping .......................https://www.sportsmansoutdoorsuperstore.com/products2.cfm/ID/200461 Bill
  2. Ok, I can’t be the only one excited about this rifle coming out. Granted, I don’t live on a farm, and need a good snake gun. But I’m kind of a .22 whore and loves me some lever guns. Its listed with an MSRP of 420, so I’m guessing we’ll see it closer to 350. And when my wife asks me how many guns do I really need? I answer, “I don’t know, all of them?” https://www.henryusa.com/shotgun/garden-gun-smoothbore-22/
  3. I'm looking to buy a 20ga. O/U. I'm liking the Beretta 687 Silver Pigeons, but have also noticed the 693 Field. What are the differences between the 687 & 693? I also really liked the Fausti Class, but am leaning towards Beretta for notoriety and resale. Thoughts?
  4. I just got a Winchester mod 40. I'm having trouble finding much info about the gun except, "It sucks, it's the worst gun ever!" and the other answer "I own 10 of these and will buy all of them I come across because these are great guns!" I think this one might be a skeet grade gun, but I'm not sure. It is in good condition in working order, although I have not fired it. It cycles just fine and is very clean. I got it from a friend that used to live in Chicago. The trigger guard has Bill Goodman on it. Could it be the White Sox Billy Goodman? Hmmm...... With all that being said, where can I find any information on this gun? I'd like to do a complete tear down for cleaning but not having information readily available, I'm too chicken. Thanks
  5. My son traded a couple of basic guns for this Kel-Tech and I got to shoot it today. I didn't know what to think about it at first but hey, the thing is pretty well built. I was quit surprised and it shot very well. My only gripe is I would opt for much better aluminum flip up sights over the blocky plastic pop ups that came on the gun. This gun gets a thumbs up for a hi cap survival piece.
  6. I have always thought the hype about Leupold and other high end scopes was blown out of proportion. I finally broke down and bought a vintage Vari-X III 3.5-10x40 after seeing everybody's recommendation for a scope on the model 70 i bought a few months back and wow. What have I been shooting with all these years? Crystal clear and i love the eye relief.
  7. Man, oh man. Guy just came in, had Armalite AR10T, with documentation from the factory that it was the 60th one made. Had a Leupold 6.5 x 20 - 50 scope and six mags... and he wanted to sell it...
  8. A.J. Holst

    Savage 99

Got a chance to buy one for $500 from Best Guy Buddy 54 model, .300 Savage Some wear, zero concerns with mechanicals or accuracy. Tapped with Leupold VX2 2-7 x 33 Thoughts?
  9. I'm considering one. Any tips or suggestions?
  10. Don't get it... https://www.guns.com/news/2019/09/16/colt-reportedly-to-stop-making-rifles-for-consumer-market

  12. I was playing around with a 20" V7 6.5 creedmoor ar10, and accuracy was amazing. I'm saying factory ammo amax from 0.500 to 0.400 and 130 gold medal match from 0.370 to 0.450. The gun is about 7.5 lbs and the 16" 308 is about 6.5 lbs. Has anyone shot with one for an extended period? https://www.vsevenweaponsystems.com/

    List of good FFLs?

Do we (could/should) we have a list of FFLs? I realize it may not work too well as it could fall out of date and also requires work to input/maintain. Anyone have suggestions for an FFL in Mid-TN with low transfer rates? I think the one i last used several years ago no longer does transfers. Thanks!
  14. Hello to all... I'm new here and have come for a little advice. I'm looking to purchase my first ar15. Probably gonna go the used route. Been looking at a couple different ones, trying to keep it under $550 or so since it's my first and don't want to break the bank starting out. Been looking at a Smith & Wesson M+P 15 sport II, or an ATI AR-15 or Savage MSR-15 Patrol. Any help or advice is appreciated.
  15. Anyone have this?? Are they any good?? $389 for a magazine fed semi-auto shotgun is pretty cheap. If they prove to be reliable, I would think these would be a hot ticket. https://www.panzerarms.com.tr/ar12 https://grabagun.com/pw-arms-ar-12-black-12ga-20-inch-5rd.html
  16. I bought a Mossberg Shockwave today and am pretty excited about it. I've seen mixed reviews about them but mostly positive ones. Does anyone on here own one? If so, what are your thoughts on it? I got the 18.5" barrel version. I had originally wanted the 14" one but didn't do my research on their different barrel lengths when I bought mine. I assumed they were only one length but they aren't. Maybe I can buy the shorter barrel and magazine tube if they sell them if I really want the shorter version.
  17. So I have a bad habit of buying guns, sticking them in the safe and not shooting them. About 1.5-2 years ago I picked up a mid-60's Winchester model 70 in .375 H&H. I finally put a scope on it and took it out yesterday to sight it in. I am not very recoil sensitive. This was my fist time shooting .375 H&H and it thumped me a little more than I was expecting. My shoulder is sore today.Got her sighted in and back into the safe she goes. If I get lucky and get an elk tag this is the gun I will use. About 2.5 years ago I picked up a Montana X2 in .300 Win Mag. Scoped her and got her sighted in yesterday also. I love accurate rifles and I really love this one. After shooting the .375 this one did't seem to kick at all. Clover leafed my last three shot group at 100. Should have taken a pic but didn't think about it. It was a little warm yesterday but it was good to get out and shoot some.
  18. I finally was able to finish my .224 Valkyrie build. This is my first solo AR build. The main parts are: CMMG lapped upper & Anderson lower with Suregrip tactical deluxe grip and Magpul RS Gen 3 stock Geissele Hi-Speed National Match Trigger. Wilson Combat .224 Valkyrie Super Sniper, 22" SS barrel with Precision Armament M11-SPR-5.56 compensator and Troy Industries low-profile gas block. Brownell's 6.8mm Nitride BCG with Geissele Super charging handle BCM MCMR 15 handguard w/M-loc UTG Recon Fles Bipod Total cost of the build without the scope and mount that I already had was just under $1,800. I can't wait to get some rounds loaded up for it and try it out!
  19. I tell ya' these are exciting times. Was gonna get me another top shelf 45 pistol but along came a youtube that really hit me. Late last year, a place called Flint River Armory came out with a piston driven 45acp carbine. Runs clean and very accurate so says the youtubers that i watch so far. Only downer i heard was it has a propietary mag. Sooo... Does anyone here have experience with one or know of one in stock that i could play with? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cKmNB0HBVsc https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T0B2Iox__Zw
  20. Source: https://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2019/06/05/kalashnikov-винтовка-свч-30/ The SVCh-308 is loosely based on the scaled-up MA Dragunov design and is being developed for the three most common military rifle cartridges, the 7.62×51 NATO, 7.62x54R and .338 Lapua Magnum (also known as 8.62x69mm). Between the two 7.62mm versions, the rifle has a very high commonality of parts. The .338LM SVCh-8.6 rifle however, has a necessarily larger receiver, magazine housing and bolt group. The SVCh rifle has an inverted U-shaped receiver, made from steel and a solid top that offers a stable platform for optics, with integrated Picatinny rail. The trigger and magazine housing unit is made from lightweight alloy. The rifle features short stroke piston gas operated action and rotary bolt locking. A manual gas regulator ensures smooth and reliable operation under all conditions, with or without sound suppressor. Rifle is fed from detachable box magazines. In 7.62x54R version, it uses magazines compatible with the Dragunov SVD sniper rifle. In 7.62×51 NATO and in .338LM it uses proprietary magazines with standard and high capacity. This rifle features ambidextrous controls. A side folding stock is adjustable for length of pull. Standard accessories include detachable folding bipod and quick-detachable tactical sound suppressor.

  22. Alright, going through a real first-world problem here folks! I am looking at purchasing my first 308 chambered AR rifle in the near future. I am looking to spend around the $1k mark, which obviously limits my choices some. The rifle will be used for hunting and the occasional range session. So far I have looked at these options: PSA Gen 2 build (the cheapest option, so room in the budget for an optic), a Savage MSR 10 Hunter (really like the way this rifle looks), a S&W M&P 10 or M&P 10 Sport, and the Springfield Saint Victor. So far the Springfield I think has the narrow lead over the Savage. Just looking for input, let's talk! Any other rifles I should be considering that I haven't listed besides Diamondback?
  23. It pains me to say this, but I need some help in finding a lever action rifle. I shot my friends marlin 30-30 and for all the #### I have given him over the years for having a "cowboy gun", it sure was a blast. What are some good brands and models and what to stay away from. This is will be a range toy, so .357 or .44 would be cool. .45-70 would be way out there, but looks to be the most fun.
  24. Been reading about a wildcat round called 45 Raptor. Basically it's a .308 Winchester case necked up to a .45 cal bullet to use only in an AR-10 (AR-15 can not handle the pressures this makes). It's supposed to deliver about 3,000 ft lbs of muzzle energy. Has anyone tried this cartridge?
