Some asshat signed me up for Brady Campaign emails, and I got this one today....

MORE GUNS IN NATIONAL PARKS PUT VISITORS AT RISK

Dear Hex,

The Bush Administration has given the gun lobby a special last-minute gift — a very expensive one, … one that puts public safety at risk.

The Brady Center is taking action to stop it. We need your help.

The Brady Center has filed a suit asking a federal court to strike down the Administration’s last-minute rule change to allow concealed, loaded guns in national parks and wildlife refuges.

Please give a tax-deductible gift now to help us stop this unnecessary and dangerous ruling. It will allow guns in rural and urban national park areas around the country ...

... from Wyoming’s Yellowstone and California’s Yosemite to Philadelphia’s Independence National Historical Park, home of the Liberty Bell.

The Brady Center filed the suit on behalf of our Brady Campaign members, including school teachers in the New York and Washington, D.C. areas who are canceling or curtailing school trips to Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty and the National Mall in Washington, D.C. now that the Bush Administration will allow guns in these national parks.

Click here to give today to support our efforts to keep our parks and wildlife refuges safe, to stop the gun lobby and the Bush Administration from enacting this last-minute ruling.

Sincerely,

Sarah Brady, Chair

Sure... Let's provide BGs another gun-free zone so that they can go on an unfettered killing spree. It would give the Bradys of the world a chance to point their fingers at private gun ownership as the source of all evil in the world.

Give me a farking break.

Now let's see, school teachers from New York and Wash. D.C. are canceling trips to several National Parks due to Bush allowing guns in these parks?

I don't believe this for a second but if it were true, then these "teachers" need to realilze that by just being in New York or D.C. they are surrounded by bad guys with guns as both places are "Gangster Disneylands." How could it be any worse in a National Park where presumably now the "good guys" will be allowed to carry?

But the Brady Bunch is just trying to scare their people because with the rule change, in New York or D.C. you will still be required to have a carry permit to visit the Parks with a gun and the chance of citizens in either place having a permit are practically nill.

;):eek: There may, MAY be some that carry in New York, because they do have a permit to carry system even though it is near impossible to get one. But there is NO permit to carry in D.C. for non-LEOs. The rule change only allows carry in parks that are in states that already allow carry. What a really great scare tactic. :P:rolleyes::rolleyes:

I love this line:

". . . parks and refuges are designed to be havens of peace and safety, and visitors who do not like guns will not be able to fully enjoy such areas if they know that another visitor in close proximity may be carrying a loaded and concealed firearm."

I'm gonna correct this for truth:

". . . parks and refuges are designed to be havens of peace and safety but end up being targets for rape, robbery, and murder, and law abiding gun carry permit owners who do not like guns only in the hands of criminals will not be able to fully enjoy such areas if they know that a criminal in close proximity may be carrying a loaded and concealed firearm and that visitors have no defense against such criminals."
