PTR91 or C308

Looking at getting one or the other.  Are there some here that can provide feedback on these rifles, after having owned and shot them for awhile?

I'm certainly not an expert, but the PTR91 has a great reputation.  That being said, t find these rifles to be some what ungainly. I much prefer an AR chambered in 7.62X51 NATO.

I actually did some recent research, Moped is right, the PTR does have a better reputation.

If it was me, I would save up and pay the extra.

Moped also mentioned ungainly, which is why I wouldn't. I'm 5'9" with a 32"-33" arm.

Thanks guys.  I'm leaning towards the PTR as well.  I do think Century is a better company now than they used to be quality wise.  

I'm going to run it suppressed so it'll be a bit more ungainly than stock...but it's purpose will only be short field trips.

I agree on the PTR or FAL options... that being said a good deal of the C308 is actually produced by PTR(polymer lower, barrel, receiver).  I think it probably comes down more to if you are trying to upgrade/replace some parts to end up with a S/A Cetme B/C/E clone or a H&K 91/G3 clone.

I have a PTR91 and am very pleased with it.  I have no experience with the C308 so cannot venture a comparison.  In the 80s I had the pleasure of spending a lot of time on the butt of an HK91 but could not afford one at the time.  Now I am not willing to pay the market price of the HK91 but am very satisfied with my PTR91.

I have the PTR for a few years now and its awesome. Except for my damn paratrooper stock. Got to keep the jaw open to fire it. Otherwise, fantastic shooter, slightly annoying to clean.
