Haha!  I'm glad you're thrilled with it.  You keep being happy, and I'll keep my valid gripes for now.
I never said it was proprietary... "universal port crap", I believe.   We all have our different applications and tolerances.  It may all work out well in the end, but until then, I will not run a $200/ticket x 50,000 seat venue Live show on one.   Period.  Record, Edit, Scrapbook, Spreadsheet or graphic design?  sure.  Run a live show?  nope.
FYI:  The new Macbook Pros interfacing with external devices other than USB is not a matter of a simple cable.  Each dongle you use with the new Macbook Pro that does anything other than USB - whether it is a 6" adapter or a 3m cable DOES have a chipset (with firmware) in the ends of the cable itself - converting the protocol.  It's another handshake that has to happen - one more compound variable (code, chipset, and another physical connector) that could cause trouble,...  and it is infuriating.   default_biggrin.png  I better lay off or I'll have to change my username and tagline.

You're good, CZ!  I'm glad it's right for you.  I hope to be as happy as you about it someday in the future.

My first response was really to ronald_55, who claimed USB was universal so why design a proprietary one. I just suspected he felt that Apple pulled USB-C out of their rear solely so they could charge for adapters.

In my opinion, switching to USB-C was a great option as it is a standard.

You have valid concerns for certain technical aspects, but they currently do not bother me. I bought an Anker USB-C to USB-A adapter to keep in the bag. My needs sound vastly different than yours.

Hmm. I have been using MagPul cases for a decent while. Are those bumpers really protective enough?

I've dropped mine many times with no damage onto brick and concrete. They're light weight and add very little bulk to the iPhone while making it a lot easier to hold. I also like that they come in colors other than black. I've used other bumpers on a different phone and never really trusted them. The Rhino Shield delivers as promised. It's all I'll use as long as they make them.

I only post this here in good humor. It is what I referenced earlier but it took me a while to find it. It's from 2008 when Apple released a new MacBook, not MacBook Pro as I stated. Back then there was a lot of complaining about the available ports and having to use dongles too.

Reading through a lot of the comments and you might mistake them for being about the 2016 MacBook Pro if you didn't know they were from 2008!

... but the sky IS falling!   :biglol:

For what it's worth, we had  pretty major issues when Apple dropped Firewire as well.  - a refresh of computers meant an (otherwise un-necessary) hardware refresh for some clients... as the use of the Firewire Dongle came with intermittent connection dropouts.
