This is happening way too frequently.

A Chattanooga police officer was shot three times on Thursday morning in the Glenwood community prompting a massive city-wide search that includes "all available resources." According to CPD Chief Fred Fletcher, the officer was checking an abandoned building to make sure no one was inside. That is when a man came out.

At some point the suspect opened fire and the officer was hit three times. The officer was treated at Erlanger for injuries not considered life-threatening and later released. The officer's family has been notified but his name is not publicly released.

Just goes to show; you just never know what you will run into. I wouldn’t expect a shooter when checking an abandon building for a squatter. Of course, the bad guy has the advantage of surprise anyway.

I hope the Officer is okay; sounds like he is. He drove himself to the hospital and has been released.

The nut cases are now targeting cops; be careful out there.
