Savage ARs

My guess is that Savage was betting on a Hillary win.  It is amazing how much wholesale inventory changed after the election.  Allocated rifles are now being begged to be taken.  I expect rebates this year from the manufacturers

I'm thinking/hoping that will be the case. Some really good buys would be welcome after the last few years.

But more than just great pricing, I'm hoping to se at least some reworking of the NFA laws. At least on Suppressors and filing times.

Yeah, amazing that some of the biggies are finally jumping into the AR market, now that it is already more saturated than ever before.

I'm also wondering what with the lead time necessary to do this, if they were counting on the panic buying of a Hillary win to make the difference.

Savage accuracy, AR10... if the price gets down in the mid teens, that will be a great "entry" Precision AR10.   I wouldn't, however, trust any trigger from BLACKHAWK!

.... I still laugh out loud every time I see that company trademark name in all caps with the exclamation point.   It's the epitome of over-acting in a corporate name.

I know some of their products are probably okay but they are definitely budget items for the most part. I'm really surprised that this is the company they joined with. Maybe Savage didn't want to be just another Magpul tricked out AR company. Although maybe BLACKAWK! has stepped up their game/quality for the items Savage will use?  Have to see I guess.

I wonder if BLACKHAWK!!!!!!!!!! is also owned by Vista Outdoors, the parent of Savage Arms.  It would make sense to co-brand in-house.

And I agree... BH is just one step up from the no-name accessories on Amazon, imho.  (And yes. I admit I have bought a couple of those no-name things off Amazon.  Most weren't worth the cost of their free shipping, but I do love the angled iron sights I got for $21.)

22Plinkster said BLACKHAWK! is a sister company to Savage. So I guess that makes sense business wise.

Meh.  I don't think they'll screw anything up... it's the same milspec stuff that everybody and their momma has been making for decades now, and they are literally adding nothing to the mix.  I surely doubt that years of thought have gone into designing this rifle, as Plinkster suggests. Maybe years of negotiating the lowest bidder for supplying the parts for the gun, but slapping 4 off-the-shelf parts on an AR that has remained largely unchanged for 50 years can't take all that long to figure out.

What a surprise, another manufacturer making an AR. Market will push a lot of these out eventually as there are more AR models out there than consumers can support. Especially now that all the anti gun federal legislation is now unlikely with the Trump win.
