Bersa BP9cc opinions?

Recommended Posts

Looking for first hand knowledge and opinions about the BP9CC. Been interested in it for a couple years now but have been putting off buying one to see what kind reputation/track record they develop. Handled it in the shop but haven't had the opportunity to shoot one as of yet. Hoping someone here can provide a little feedback. Specifically related to reliability with various types of ammo and overall function. Thanks.

What other guns do you already have and like, and what else is on your radar?

Some similar but possibly more reputable options would be the Smith &  Wesson Shield, Ruger LC9, Walther CCP and Kahr CW9.  I think all of those can be found at or below $400.  Stretching the budget a further $50-100 opens you up to the Walther PPS, Springfield XDs, Performance Center S&W Shield, and Glock 43.

I carry the Performance Center Shield and love it.  My next choices would be PPS and LC9 if the Shield didn't exist.

Had a Shield and it is a decent enough gun but was looking for a single stack 9mm that doesn't incorporate the magazine floor plate as part of the griping surface which along with the trigger is what interested me about the BP9cc. I may have to compromise on that though. Gonna take another look at the LC9 and Glock43. XDs is not out of the question either as long as I can disable or pin the grip safety.

If you didn't like the grip of the Shield, you'll hate the G43.  It's even shorter. LC9 is about where the Shield is.

Look into the Kahrs, they have single stacks with taller grips.

So after reviewing the bersa chat forum I think I'm going to pass on it. Seems like 75% of the threads there are related to trouble shooting issues with it. Really unfortunate as I really like the way it feels. Kinda bummed now. Oh well, the search continues.

I'm no Bersa salesman (but I am a Bersa Chat board moderator) and I'll just say that you hear most from owners with problems than you do from owners who love the guns.  I owned the BP9CC for a few months and it performed very well.  However, I just couldn't get used to the single-stack platform and traded it away.  Good luck with your search.
