Just saw a news broadcast about the Ford Explorers having dangerous conditions with Exhaust Fumes inside vehicles causing everything from dizziness to headaches and 1 State Trooper passed out while driving his patrol Explorer and hit a tree off the side of the road just barely missing a head on collision with an on coming SUV. If any of ya'll own one of these between 2012 and 2017 beware that your health is at risk..............:dropjaw:

Unless the exhaust pipe terminated inside the cab, I can't see how this story is accurate. In fact, I didn't find but one story on Scott Pelly's broadcast tonight believable; the one where they transferred a panda from a zoo to somewhere else. I honestly don't know whether to believe it either, but it was the most believable if you consider each one logically.

Had an old bronco that I was having duals put on...nobody would run them straight out the back for this reason. Had them ran out the side and even then if I rolled down the window running down the road you could start smelling the exhaust. Now, this was with headers, no cats, and smog pump removed (aah the good old days) so I don't know if that would make a difference.

A friend has one of these turbo Explorers with a hot rodded computer.  It'll run with a V8 Camaro into triple digits.

Here's the exhaust leak story...

We had an old '70's full size van that would pull exhaust in through the rear windows so generally we only opened the one opposite the tail pipe.  But if that window was open, it was very likely all the other windows were open too, so it wasn't a big deal.

It doesn't make a difference.  The factory manual says not to drive with the window down for that reason.

We have one. My wife has had bad headache and nausea for over a week. Got better over last weekend, she didn't go anywhere. Got worse again when she went back to work. Heard about this Tuesday and she has stayed out of the explorer and had a blood test to check for carbon monoxide but haven't got the results back yet. But she is doing much better since not driving it, may be a coincidence but we will know when we get the results back on her blood test.
