So I'm a MagPul/Surefire Junkie (Now w/ Pictures)

Just finished my order for my AR upgrade project.

Here is what I purchased

Basically, was able to snag all this stuff for $403.86 by really taking my time to find the best deals. I'm going to give running a weapon light a try without a tapeswitch. I probably saved at least $50 but probably actually closer to $150 by foregoing the tapeswitch setup as of now. I am able to effectively use the Surefire X300-U on my Glock 19 with my thumb, therefore with optimal placement I should be able to do the same with the M600. It should be quite a bit more rugged eliminating the cable and tapeswitch. I'm worried that the offset mount may place the light in the wrong placement. If it turns out that the offset mount I purchased makes the light awkward to activate, I may have to purchase their M-LOK Cantilever Light Mount. That may place the light too far forward though.

I'm looking forward for this stuff coming in over the next few days. I'll try to post up pictures as well as a review of the setup.

EDIT: Pictures!

I saw your earlier thread with the stocks. Just curious as to what swung you one way from the other.

Nothing in particular. I liked the SL series that I looked at locally, and although I haven't handled an SL-S, I like the idea of it.

According to a few reviews on the internet, it is supposed to lockup quite well.

Ultimately I figured if I don't like it I can set it aside for trading/building later.

Well, that was fun. Finally completed the upgrades I had been wanting for years but patiently putting off.

First, to those that suggested I forgo a tape switch connected to the light, Bravo Zulu! It is perfectly placed and useable by my left thumb while securely gripping the handguard.

Secondly, I think I love the stock. Cheek wild is amazing. Feels very solid and locks up quite tightly because of then leaf spring on the buffer tube. Haven't filled it with batteries but hope to soon.

The handstop kit and complementing rail covers are perfect as well.

The M600 is bright bright. Overall, 100% satisfied with every piece that I purchased, which is rare most of the time.

Will try for pictures soon.

Now it is time for a quick write-up!

I love the M-LOK covers. They have a very nice texture which provides a very nice grip. Same goes for the handstop kit; It allows for a very secure hold on the rifle while allowing my left thump to interface with the M600 light perfectly. I can either push the tail-cap in slightly for a momentary burst of light or push it all the way in for constant on. I am so glad that I did not go the tape-switch route, the setup that I went with is simpler, cheaper, and likely quite a bit more rugged. As far as the picatinny rail covers, they are ok but not as nice as the M-LOK covers in my opinion. I put rails anywhere I could to guard my skin against heat and guard the forend itself from drops, etc.

The SL-S stock I seem to really like. Haven't had a chance to shoot it yet but it feels good against the cheek.

Thanks for the input everyone!
