New silencer/suppressor rules passed for TN?

Removed "firearm silencer" from the prohibited weapons statute.

Won't keep you out of federal prison, though. ;)  Neither will anything in the TN Firearms Freedom Act of several years ago, whereby you could already make your own silencer or buy one from TN manufacturer, as long as all in state.

Nope. The Feds can do what they want, like always. TN law can't change that.

ATF offiically poo pooed the several states which have done the "firearm freedom act" thing good while ago. Test case in Kansas, guys were convicted. Got a break on highest appeal, sentences reduced to probation, though of course they still lost their gun rights for felony convictions.

Tested in Montana without actual arrest,  up through US Circuit, nope. And SCOTUS refused to hear it after that.
