I recently picked up one of the Sentry biometric pistol safes and I have been really happy with it.

Yep, I have had one of those for a while now and it works great.  Word to the wise, pick up some AA Lithium Ion batteries for it. Not only do they last a bit longer than regular batteries, but they won't leak acid and ruin your safe's electronics the way other batteries will either.

I have one of the sentry biometrics, too.  Costco had them for $100 around Christmas.  So far so good

Ditto. I would suggest practicing the finger swipe. Not that it's difficult or anything, but if you run your finger across it too quick you aren't getting your pistol

I have a gun vault bio and a gun vault keypad, if I was doing it again I would get another keypad version because it works every time. I often have to swipe 2-4 times on the bio to get it open, and if I've jacked my fingertips up at work it doesn't open. I also tested it with wet and bloody fingertips and it didn't work well at all.
