The Heyday of my collecting

Recommended Posts

At one time I collected Mosins by production year and Arsenal....I had an office/gunroom and I was like a hog in slop. Mosins, Mausers, SKSs, AKs, Oh My!

I've narrowed my  collection way way down as I am getting older....found these pics and thought I'd share them.

The MG42 was a one-of-akind lol. Believe it or not it's a Ruger 10/22 in a dress up kit. The ammo is belted dummy .223. It was a cool looking .22.

This was the main room and all of the cabinets were full, the 91/30 crate was in my bedroom and other rifles stashed in nooks crannies, under the bed, behind book cases, etc.

Yep, that's a Ruger 10-22 trigger group sticking out of the bottom.  I've been next to a real to a MG42 in action.  Saying they have a fast cyclic rate  is an understatement.

I caught the Mosin fever a few years back but nothing to your extent.

Did you ever "complete" the collection with every year and arsenal?

I had 91/30s from the Tula Arsenal from 1920 through 1944 consecutive years. I had M44s from the trial year of 1943 through the last year of production 1948.

I had Remington built M91s and New England Westinghouse built M91s.
