Can’t tell from that picture if it’s a K frame or N frame, (Probably a k-frame from the grips) or even if it’s a S&W or Colt…so 10, 14, 15, 19, 27, 28, 64, 65, 66, Python, Trooper, would be my guess.

That covers all the bases, lol.  It might be a S&W .38/44 Heavy Duty.  I believe those were popular duty guns back in that era.

Tuesday Weld, what's the movie or was this her other job.

Pretty Poison, 1968

Quote

In 1971 Weld would call the movie her least favorite:

The least creative experience I ever had. Constant hate, turmoil and dissonance. Not a day went by without a fight. Noel Black, the director, would come up to me before a scene and say, 'Think about Coca Cola'. I finally said, 'Look, just give the directions to Tony Perkins and he'll interpret for me.

So what are the Canadian Police looking for and what is in the holster.

Based on the ass end of the vehicle, I’m going to say that it’s a Smith & Wesson Military & Police revolver in .38 Special. They carried those from 54-96.
