Double Barrel Shotgun question

We've all seen smooth old doubles where you hit the lever and the action just slides open so smoothly. We've also seen some where you just touch the lever and they fall open.

Well I've got one that you can break it over your knee and its still a pain to open!  What would you polish/buff/fluff/sprinkle with hoodoo magic to get it to open smoothly?

It's a EEA Bounty Hunter II made in Russia.

Just my opinion but it sounds like the machine work is a little off plum in the break open area and it might take more than just a little polishing or buffing to make it work. There is a product called Rocket Fuel that is designed to make any tight actions on any thing work smoother. I use to use it on fishing reels back years ago and it sure made them cast a 100% easier. Might want to get some of it and give it a try.

Take a look at the highlighted area in the pic. There is a lug on the barrel that locks under the spring loaded piece that moves when you turn the break down lever. Make sure the spring loaded piece is moving. If not, you may be forcing it back because the spring is not moving it or at least not enough. Does the breakdown lever turn really easy? They cleaning all those moving parts.

Otherwise the lug could be catching, but usually I have found that the lug keeps it from locking closed more than holds it closed if there is an issue.
