I had a 6.5 in another rifle and loved it. Due to paying for a wedding it had to go :( but I liked it over the 308 . I smoked some deer and hogs with it along with taking some long range shots

I've been reading about it and it seems like a great round, but I already own 308 and like being able to get it without issue wherever I am. So leaning that way more for compatibility reasons, as stupid as it may be. Either way if I came across 6.5 or 308 I wouldn't mind.

I don't own one but a good friend of mine does. His is in .308 and is wearing a sightron 10-50x50 AO scope. When I make this next statement please understand I am not brand bashing or being a "hater" or anything like that, I am just not a big Ruger fan. I am not saying they don't make fine shooting instruments, they are just not my cup of tea. That is just my opinion and that is all it is worth. I'm saying that to emphasize the next statement. His Ruger precision is an amazing rifle. The bolt is so well machined that I swear I think the bolt, receiver and chamber are all machined from one billet by machinists with elfin like magic. The trigger, while clearly a blatant copy of the accutrigger:biglol:, is amazing. The whole rifle is just really a well made system. I will say it will make you a better shot, as a matter of fact, if you have any long range shooting skill at all, it is almost boring to shoot at less that 400 yards. at 225 I could get 3 out of 5 touching and the last two were because of me. It is hard to get a good cheek weld when the scope is set up for someone else.

My LGS has one in 308 on the shelf and I would love to bring it home.

Too much coin for me though. I've got too many toys that I don't get to play with now.

Buy it GJ and bring it over :)

ive got some ammo!

Lmao. I need to bring some other things over as well. What are they asking on it?  My lgs has one for 1,300 ish but Bud's has them listed at 1,110 or so.

He's closer to 1500. I know, it's painful.

Heck, I'll host everyone out at Oak Ridge if you like? They've got out to 200 yds on the Rifle Bench Rest range!

That Ruger doesn't start breathing hard until it gets past 600. My little brother has one in 6.5. Hasn't had a chance to shoot it much.

Any high power round should be fine for at least 600. I have been in matches were guys were using ARs and they were accurate, started to tumble but accurate.  Any .308 should reach out to 1000 as well. Size of groups are a different story.

I shot the M14 and while I hit the target at 1k, the 300 win mag guys owned that range.
