Recommended Posts

I apologize if this is the wrong section, i'm new here...   I didn't see and haven't found a deals section yet...

 http://www.cabelas.com/product/TRIJICON-RMR-LED-SIGHT/2053594.uts?slotId=2

I just got this sight for $216

Here is how...

Giftcardzen.com has electronic gift cards that are %14 off.  so buy $300 in gift cards. they'll arrive in your inbox in 30 mins to an hr

https://giftcardzen.com/

Sign up here at active junky that gives you %6 off of cabelas and many % off of a lot of other websites  (but you have access the cabelas website through active junky)

https://www.activejunky.com/invite/201629

Go here to get $20 off your order for an email

http://couponconnections.com/20-off-200-at-cabelas/

I know its a lot of work but you can get the RMR for $216

the breakdown... $290 - $20 = 270

270 * 6% cash back at active junky... and 14% at giftcardzen.com gives you 20% off... which puts it down 216

I'm sure these wont last long since its on slick guns now... but good luck!

Update: if anyone wants the RM07 its onsale for 349 (all the same percentages work).  Should bring it down around $275 out the door

Doing now. In the process of waiting for gift cards to be emailed. All I have to do is paste them into the payment information on Cabelas and I'm set!

I find backwards ways to really swing a savings like this quite often as well. Thanks for posting.

Enjoy your $10 ;)

Although, let me state that the current discount for the gift cards was only 11%. Still worth it, you are only talking about a difference of $9 on the total $300.

can't control the giftcard %... You're welcome and thanks for the 10 bucks!  I figured i'd toss a link out there just in case someone didn't have active junky yet!  Its a great website.

I'm not going to lie, waiting for the gift cards to be emailed vs hoping Cabela's doesn't go out of stock is quite stressful.

absolutely agreed... my first one took 40 mins to hit the inbox... second set of gift cards took 20 mins... Yes... i bought two, couldn't help it.. now you have the option of spending a little more and getting the rmr07 (adjustable brightness)

Finally! So, math breakdown, which I feel reflects even a truer value.

$267 is what I paid for the gift cards.

Assuming it works out (sometimes technical issues screw up things like Activejunky, hopefully it doesn't, but assuming it works), perhaps 6% of the total $290 (or $270 depending on how they apply it to Cabela's Bucks), that's a theoretical $17.40. I'll mark this as conditional since I haven't seen it yet.

The sight was $270 out the door. So, don't remember that you still have $30 leftover in one of those gift cards. That's value.

I used my Chase Sapphire Reserved, which will essentially net me 1.5% from the purchase of the $267 gift card, or basically $4.00.

Assuming that the conditional Activejunky works, I'm in for the 6.5 MOA version at $267 - ($17.40 + $30.00 + $4.00), or $215.6.

I'd say that works!

This reminds me of a trick I typically do, although this deal today bested it. Anytime I'm ordering something decently priced in terms of optics, sights, etc that is available on https://swfa.com/, I typically search the internet for the absolute cheapest place I can find it, even if it is a "sketchy" site. I then submit a price match request to SWFA. They have a 110% price match guarantee. I've been able to snag a lot of items even cheaper.

Example, if you weren't snagging 11% - 14% off the gift cards and the $20 coupon, lets pretend you were only getting the sight at $290. Cabela's offers free shipping. I'm just making numbers up because it is pointless to spend the time checking, but lets pretend that SWFA typically sells the same thing for $500 and has $10 shipping. $510 - $290 = $220. However, 110% of $220 is $242. SWFA then gives you that amount of their price. You'd get it for $510 - $242, or $268. So anytime you see something on a deep discount, remember you could theoretically get 110% of the discount by matching it at SWFA, they have great service and I've always been pleased.

Thanks again!

How quickly does Activejunky typically show the details you speak of?

So does active junky take the discount off of your order or does it send it to you separately? It asked for my PayPal account. Also 6.5 moa is better for pistols correct?

It tracks your orders and then applies the percentages to your Activejunky account. Every 90 days they will send it to you via PayPal or via a check.

Most people like the 6.5 for quicker dot acquisition. Some like the 3.25. The general consensus is a 6.5 is better for pistol.  The dot will cover 1.625" at 25 yards  and the 3.25moa would be half of that
