I picked up a "Palmetto State Armory Classic Freedom Davidsons Exclusive" in 5.56 for about that plus a few bucks shipping a while back. It has a front sight post though. If you are interested, so can send you the dealer's info. Not sure if the front post is a real deal breaker.

I have a Windham Weaponry AR in 7.62x39. It's an "optics ready" gun with no fixed front sight so you can put whatever optic on it you want to. It's been a good gun. With almost 1,000 rounds through it, I haven't had any problems with mine. I bought mine just before the election for around close to $900 after taxes. It may be cheaper now that the gun scare is over with for the time being. WW was founded by the original owner of Bushmaster after he sold the business. I wanted to post a pic but I can't get the photo file size down enough to upload it.
