What is up with the tiny photo sizes? Its a little frustrating, but I would just like the reason behind it.

Which ones, where?

Here's 2592x1944. Sizes it down to about 1000px to fit in the forum format (running browser full screen on my 1600 px monitor) but you can still see it fully sized by  right clicking on it, view image, + on cursor or similar method depending on operating system and browser I guess.

The image you recently linked to in the tool box thread is like 1400 px wide, same deal, and I can see it full sized by doing that also, so??

Sorry, I should have been more specific. For profile photos and back grounds. Took me a while to get my new gem of a profile picture to the right size.

I use FOTOSIZER to downsize Photos once they are laded from my camera to the computer. Generally, 900 x yyyy pixels or about 150KB maximum and they are big enpught for web sites. Taht said, I have not been able to choose any files lately.

We primarily require people to link to their photos from elsewhere and not expect that TGO will pay to host those photos for them.  The only place where we do that is in the Trading Post forums for items that are for sale/trade, and only then for the Benefactor members who have the ability to start new threads.

Everywhere else, you are expected to host with something like Photobucket, Imagur, Smugmug, etc.
