HCP renewal question

I just received my HCP renewal notice in the in the mail. Previoulsy, I always renewed on line or via mail. This time the notice tells me that I am required to have a new photo, and to appear at a Driver Service Center to renew my permit. Has anyone else had this notice? Nothing at all has changed as far as name, address etc. Just curious, because I haven't had to do this in the past.

Thanks for the replies, folks. I received my DL renewal also(both due in Jan/18). Seems all the DL dept wants is my money, I guess they don't care so much how I look.

Exactly.  A check (well, a debit or credit card anyway) will make all this go away ...

Did my last one online as well. But had a small glitch. Instead of the last photo taken...I received one with a photo from at least 2, if not 3, renewals back.

I had all black hair and beard in it. Not even close to that now.

I was told I could get another if I wanted. Just haven't gotten around to it.

I got my DL renewal in the mail so thought I would try online even though the is DMV station 3 miles from my house. I went on line filled out the form paid the tab and got my new license 8 days later. I hope when my HCP renewal comes I can do it and it be just as smooth in August 2018.
