That is a beautiful pistol.  Still, I have yet to see a single firearm that I thought was worth spending a grand (or more) to me.  I'll just have to continue hoping that my .357 and/or .44 Magnums will be 'enough' to guard a camp.  That isn't to take anything away from the Kimber.  Those are just my own, personal thoughts.

Just a general thought here' I'm pretty much in line with on that amount. Unless it's something really special, 1000 is my upper limit. I'm not saying I've never exceeded that, as I have a time or two. Last was a Springfield TRP...1400. I was just really paranoid to shoot it and scratch it. I kept thinking how much I'd spent on it when 500-600 had been my extreme limit for years.

I sweated over it so much I finally sold it and got my cost back. JMO

If I were to purchase one I'd dump the grips. I loved the bobbed mainspring housing in my Kobra Carry - mostly because the regular mainspring housing seemed to transfer recoil into the lower heel of my hand instead of spreading it out. But once I got rid of my Ed Brown I was done with expensive pistols that I don't carry much. It's much easier to carry my Sig P320 Carry in .357 Sig.
