New Ruger pistol, Security 9

Just seeing if any TGO members have bought one yet ? When my income tax return money comes in and if there hasn't been any bad problems crop up , Ill get one. I did this last year on the Beretta APX. I got lucky cause its a very reliable pistol and it eats all kinda of ammo. Hopefully this Ruger will be the same. I'm hoping it will be the "Ruger P95" of 2018. Any of you Ruger guys knows what I mean. The P95's were very affordable yet fat and blocky but they ran and ran and ran.

That's worked for me for 25 years.  If it aint broke, don't fix it!

Well some guy on another forum said his Security 9 had one of its pins walk out on him twice. He contacted Ruger and Ruger is sending him a mailing order to get it back. I'll post what ends up happening. Hopefully this is an isolated incident.

In no way intending to come across as flippant or trolling that really doesn't sound the least bit unusual for a new pistol release from Ruger or anyone else. My initial release Lc9 and LCP sure had those issues. IIRC the SR9 did as well. I've had like problems with Kel-Tec and heard of others in other brand names. All of this is why I'm hesitant to buy any new firearm until its been on the market for a while.

Yeah , I got real lucky with my Beretta APX. It's been great. It eats my reloads and factory loads. The only other new pistol I bought when it first came out was the CZ P-07. It was a lemon for sure. The frame was bowing and was warped  and the trigger would not always reset itself. CZ sent me a brand new gun so I cant complain but yeah , I tend to wait until new guns get out for a while. That's why I've waited and been reading and such. I had my hands on 4 different Security 9's and they seem pretty well made. The only thing negative I can say is the trigger resets when it's almost all the way forward kinda like the P-Series did. But hey , at $300 it's still a good deal.
