Gun deaths by the numbers

We see all kinds of crazy numbers when it comes to gun deaths. I wonder if there is a way to get a real number.

Let’s rule out:

1. Suicides. Unfortunately people are going to kill themselves. We won’t stop that and a gun is probably one off the most humane ways.

2. Those killed by cops or home owners justified in the use of deadly force against criminals. That’s why we have guns for self-defense.

So what we are left with is those killed by accidental/negligent/reckless discharges and those killed intentionally by criminals. I wonder what that number is?
