Keep or sell the .380s?

Paul,

Based on my decision making process, if you don't already have a small pocket gun, that Taurus might be hard to beat. Here's a review I just read: https://downrangedaily.com/thoughts-taurus-spectrum/ ... it sound ok, but personally I would look for a used LCP before the Taurus... have seen the first generation used around $150 and new around $180.

I'm currently saving up for a Glock 26 with my GSSF coupon.

A little late to the party but here are my thoughts.  I have a SW Bodyguard and it goes with me just about everywhere.  It almost never leaves my pocket.  Most of the time I also have my Glock 26 on my hip but when I need to be "ultra concealed" the 380 is still in my pocket.  About the only time the 380 comes out of my pocket when I am out of the house is when I go to the VA for an appointment.

As far as the 380 isn't powerful enough debate there is plenty of research done out there where folks have put clothing in front of ballistic gel blocks and shot it with a 380.  There is still plenty of lethal force from the 380 through clothing.  With any self defense firearm, it is only as lethal as you are accurate with it.  Again there are plenty of stories out there where LEOs and others have mag dumped multiple mags of bigger calibers into a person and not taken them down.  A lot of things play into it.  This might be a logical reason to always carry a larger caliber but in the end as the saying goes, "the most effective carry firearm is the one you always carry."  I always have the 380 in my pocket but again about 90 or 95% of the time I also have my Glock 26.  Who says you have to only carry one gun!
