I had no idea she was from TN. Always interesting to find stuff like this out.

"Locke was born in 1944 as Sandra Louise Smith and raised in Shelbyville, Tenn. "

Yeah, I do. Just like one hit wonders in music, in acting there are star struck fluke meetings of perfect role that somehow fits a limited ability. And don't get me started about the Oscars in general.

I think it was more about the script and context of the movie myself. She hooked up with a star and ran with what she got rather than do it on her own. Many folks take the easy money over the hard.
