ZEV made a new kind of Glock

I don't know if y'all are familiar with ZEV Technologies but they have been making a bunch of Glock accessories for years.   Well now they have made their own pistol.   It takes a lot of their Glock parts and uses Glock mags but looks like some amalgamation of a Glock and Sig P250.

ZEV Technologies’ first complete 9mm pistol with everything built entirely from the ground up by ZEV.

The OZ-9 was designed and created for balance. It’s one of the first things you notice when holding this pistol. Balance equates to what every shooter is looking for; a more controllable pistol with less felt recoil, less muzzle flip and faster, more accurate follow-up shots.

At the heart of the O.Z-9 is our pat. pending Steel Receiver. This solid steel frame runs the length of the entire pistol allowing the locking block to be fully integrated. The extended rails in the steel receiver help provide more than double the surface area of contact to the slide. Additional benefits include channels that clear out debris while also acting as lubricating reservoirs for high friction areas.

Having a singular component for the slide to travel along minimizes vibration and recoil energy by dispersing it along the receiver through the custom grip. A single take-down pin conveniently located at the front of the trigger guard locks the removable grip to the steel receiver.

By design, the trigger is housed in the steel receiver allowing for future grip upgrades without completely breaking down the pistol. Our improved grips have steeper angles, and forward hand position keeping the muzzle down, and pointing straighter.

The O.Z-9 is compatible with ZEV components and accepts GLOCK® mags, and will include future grip sizes, color, and texture options.

The O.Z-9 includes the following:

  • Chambered in 9mm
  • ZEV Exclusive O.Z-9 Signature Slide
  • ZEV Match Grade Barrel
  • ZEV PRO Curved Face Trigger
  • ZEV O.Z-9 PRO Plus Magwell
  • ZEV O.Z-9 Custom SKB Case
  • Magpul PMAG® 17 GL9® - (Qty: 2)

So they really made a new price range kind of Glock.

Nah.  Go to shoot point blank and there are already plenty of 1200-1500 Glocks in the case.   I think there is a Vickers model something that is around a grand.

I'd like to see the sub assembly taken apart to see how all the parts work together.

Hey now, don't thumbs down me just because they made it expensive.   That ain't my fault.   Haha

I think you'll see its very nearly identical to Glock trigger parts.  I base that off of the last line.  The O.Z-9 is compatible with ZEV components

I'm kind of into Gucci Glocks at the moment.  I have a Zev Socom 17 and Raven 19. My 17 just sheared both mounting posts under the cover plate after about 18 months of ownership an several thousand rounds. I emailed them yesterday and waiting a response. I'm sure they will say I over torqued the screws but I know I didn't. Love Zev designs but currently seeing how this plays out until I could recommend them.

good grief ,but if you want the baddest Glock made Taran Tactical is tops

Yeah so I have emailed them twice over the last week. I keep getting the auto response that they will get back to me in 72hrs. I have not heard anything else in 8 days.

I do want to send my 34 in for the Taran Tactical John Wick treatment but its low on my priority list right now.

I have a hard time believing there is 3x the performance enhancement to match the 3x price difference.

I see this often and I could argue either way. While the price is pretty high what one person is willing to pay for something varies quite a bit. For me, I have no other real hobbies and married a sugar momma. So I buy a lot of impractical gun stuff.

Is it 3x the performance for three times the price? Most likely not. However with most things high end there is diminishing return on investment like sports car price vs speed.  Again for me, I felt like I was at a plateau of performance for example on a the 6 plate rack at 10 yards from low ready I average in the 4 second range with a factory Glock 17.  With my Zev I average 3-4 seconds and touch the low 2s sometimes which never happened with the stock gun.  Sure I could practice more with the stock 17 if it was my full time job and maybe touch those times. However I don't have that kind of practice time so I pay for mechanical advantages.  For some people 3x the price might be worth even small incremental iimprovements.   I do agree that it is likely not 3x performance enhancing and I will not be buying one.

Idk, just rambling.
