What safe are your using in your truck? And what do you secure it too?

the lockable container is useful when going through places like Illinois....or when you have a reason to leave it in your car (i.e. non carry locations)….not required though in TN.

One can drive through Illinois with your handgun on a TN permit.  Their law is very similar to our permitless carry.  Review their laws, especially the statement from their republican caucus.

I think its terrible that anyone would even want to make a criminal out of a victim of an auto burglary.

If there is a gun in my vehicle; my vehicle is locked. That should be all any law requires.

Illinois doesn’t require anything other than the gun being out of sight in a locked vehicle if you have a carry permit. Is there some state that requires something more than locking the vehicle where we can legally have a gun in the vehicle on our Tennessee HCP?

All I know is if you went to NJ and did that you’d be doing a stretch on Rikers! So glad I moved here :)

“Brian got busted on a narco rap
He beat the rap by rattin' on some bikers
He said, hey, I know it's dangerous
But it sure beats Riker's
But the next day he got offed
By the very same bikers”

I know that when you drive from TN to PA there is a 20 mile or so stretch of interstate that goes through Maryland. They do not honor our permit. You have to unload and lock up your pistol while in Maryland to be legal.

When I drove down, I actually called every state police dept before I left and asked if I was good to drive through and the date I was coming (I did not give vehicle details).  I got the name of the officer I was talking too, and the badge number. What I can say is each and every one of them appreciated the fact that I called.  Not sure if it was the standard thing to do, but made me feel happier :)

Yep I think about that every time I pass through that stretch. I really held my breath when I moved down here with a dozen or so guns and about 300lbs of ammo.

I had a console vault in my previous truck an F250, a different brand http://pickupspecialties.com/  but it installed easily and I liked it. Unfortunately the E250 I have now has a console that slides right out and no one would build a vault for it. Been trying to figure out other options.

I liked it and would buy again if I had a supported vehicle.
