Walther P38 9mm sight replacement

Recommended Posts

Hey y’all, my friend has one of these pistols. The other day at the OK Corral shooting range the rear sight popped out and bounced toward his head. He thought it was a spent case when it happened.

I told him to contact Walther and get their advice or see if they wanted him to send it somewhere. Neither of the two places they mentioned were in TN so I’m trying to find him a spot to go. Anyone recommend a gunsmith that works on old Walthers?

The piece is around $60 and the two springs are $18 per spring according to the person he spoke with. Not sure if that price will be different locally or not.

I don’t think he wants to put several hundred dollars into it if it comes to that. Any advice is welcome and thanks in advance.

Edit: He lives in Smyrna/LaVergne area
