Anybody heard any turkeys gobbling yet?

Recommended Posts

Lots of activity this last weekend. Plenty of gobbling and strutting in the fields... they are in full swing in my neck of the woods. Here's hoping they are still there Saturday morning.

Looks like the rain is going to hold off until the afternoon for me.  Hopefully the turkeys will be talkative and horny in the morning.

Sounds good. I gotta go to be at work at 2:30 tomorrow but, maybe the morning will be ok.

Got one this afternoon. Took about an hour and a half to talk him off the ridge. 22 lbs. 10 in beard. 1 1/4" spurs.

Lots of action this weekend. Saw a total of seven toms, most of them tight on the hens and unwilling to budge. They seemed largely unaffected by the wind, rain, sun or anything that wasn't a hen or a human.

Finally suckered one in close this afternoon.

It was about 10:30 when I got mine. I watched the hens come off the ridge and into the field with is a steep hill. My dad was higher up on the next ridge and could see them also. He said there were 3 toms but I only seen one. He got with the hens so I had to wait til he did his business with them.
