What would you like to know?

Yes. What are you searching for? Are you familiar with the 1911? Have you shot them? Wanting to know in general about the 1911 pistols?

Or are you searching for information on this specific pistol?

Order and install a factory weight recoil spring (wolff makes good ones). These are good guns and if it hasn't been butchered with a dremel then the best reliability advice is keep the proper recoil spring in it.

Clean it, shoot it, enjoy. (Repeat as needed)

You've made an excellent choice for a first 1911. You just can't go wrong with a Colt.聽聽:up:

If you're not already aware, the difference in the Series 80 is that it has a passive firing pin block safety where earlier 70 Series models didn't. Some people like to complain that it messes up the trigger pull, but I've never felt enough difference to worry about it. No big deal really.聽

Buy good magazines. 1911s don't like junk mags. If you plan to use the gun for self defense or carry, I highly recommend Wilson Combat magazines. They are expensive, but worth every penny. These are the only mags I use for competition or carry. For just everyday range use there are plenty of good cheaper mags that will serve you well. Metalform makes the Colt factory mags and you can buy them cheaper straight from the company.

Other than that, you have just a basic, but very good 1911. Shoot it and enjoy!聽:D

BTW: we want pictures!聽
