High Gloss Blue & Walnut Shotguns?

Recommended Posts

I’m thinking about adding a pump shotgun. I already have an 1100 Competition Synthetic so I don’t think I’d be interested in autos (but not 100% sure).

I do not hunt. This will be a range toy with possible use as a Home Defense shotgun.

Does anyone make anything in High Gloss blue/Walnut in the <$600 range other than the Remington 870 WingMaster?

I’d like an 870 WingMaster with a 20” Fully rifled barrel with Rifle Sights. But I don’t guess they make that anymore.

I’m not interested in anything synthetic.

Just kicking around ideas right now.

If you aren't set on new, I'd recommend a model 12 Winchester or a model 37 Ithaca.

Thanks Greg, I'm not set on new, I'll check those out.

I’ve looked at a few used ads locally, but if I’m paying near new price; I’ll just order new.

High gloss and walnut makes it tough. This is the closest I could come up with. (matte blue and ?? wood)

Thanks, I’ve looked at that. But Matt or parkerized is out.

Apples and oranges, Dave. A new 870 does not compare to the quality or an old Ithaca or Winchester.

I guess the price of a pump shotgun will go through the roof now that you're looking for one.

At least that's what happened with 39 Smiths!

Ha, Ha, Ha, I don’t think so. I can buy the top of the line brand new 870 WingMaster, high gloss blue and American walnut for $636, I can’t buy a new Model 39. :)

But you never know what will happen. I think I want to scope a revolver, so I’ve been kicking around the idea of trading a pre-lock for a new 686 with a lock because they are already tapped. How silly is that. :screwy:

I’m thinking that retirement has presented you with way too much time on your hands and the lack of focused direction is causing your thinking to get a bit fuzzy. 😆

Just have it drilled and tapped.

I’ve also been kicking around the idea of trading a Garand for a high end scoped revolver.

If you can find an older 870 that fits your wants except it has a smooth barrel then check out Barrel Exchange.  I’ve purchased a few barrels here and was always very pleased.

I kinda get the feeling that some of you guys feel that if you had the need to use a shotgun as a home defense weapon it must be black and tactical. I on the other hand think the bad guy should have the opportunity of being taken down by a gun that is every bit as purdy as it is functional.
Plus, if he is taken off to the hospital or jail I wouldn’t want him describing the gun he was looking at as “ugly”. That just wouldn’t be right for either of us.

He'll enjoy the view of an Ithaca double here.
