Thank goodness for YouTube!

Recommended Posts

I rebuilt the trim unit on my boat a couple of years ago as it sprung a leak. It worked great until Tuesday. It would raise the motor but not hold it. I was about to tear it back down when I decided to check YouTube. Sure enough, a guy on there with a short and concise video had already ran into this. All I had to do was pull out a screw and replace an o-ring. He sure made for a more enjoyable weekend. I’m tempted to get his address and send him some money.

YouTube is probably the greatest invention since books and libraries for getting stuff done.

Also the greatest for making you(me) waste time watching useless videos for hours on end. lol

I would definingly agree that to be the truth for the DIY'ers.     On the other hand, I'm guessing the commercial service industry has taken a big hit in revenue because of it.

There's been some repair/remodeling projects come up in the past that I've never done before and somewhat hesitant to tackle on my own until I've watched some videos.    I usually come away with saying, "I can do that", assuming I have the proper tools.  If not, buying the tools myself is still usually cheaper than paying someone else.  .

Greg surely that's not that junky old boat I sold you is it?? I too love Youtube, it has saved me many headaches and $$$$$.

Sure is. Looks like hell: runs like a top! My younger son and I caught quite a mess of catfish from it last Tuesday evening.

I know Dave, the guy that made the video you saw. I’m sure he wouldn’t care if I PM’d you his address and you sent him some money.

This guy is the man! I'm guessing you're joking. If not, I'd like to find him.

I learned how pretty much all the finer points I know about how to cook through YouTube videos.  Amazing resource.

We need a southern version, Y'allTube.

1st video must be "How to hunt, butcher, and cook a Possum in a cast iron skillet over an open fire while wearing no shoes". Just so we set the tone. :biglol:

(Coming from a born, bred, and lifelong TN resident by the way. My family resembles that video...)
